And thanks to companies like EV West, converting your gas-guzzling vehicle to electric is easier than ever. With a quality selection of electric car parts, components, conversion kits, and charging station solutions, EV West has everything you need for your EV conversion project.

One of the most impressive electric vehicle conversions I’ve come across is this electric Speedster build EV West completed a few years ago. It’s truly a testament to the power of electric car conversions. This 1957 Porsche Speedster kit is based on a 1970 VW Beetle chassis and came from Vintage Motor Cars. They modified the kit to fit 5 Tesla Model S battery modules, and the result is a sleek and powerful electric speedster that’s sure to turn heads.

A Closer Look at the Custom Enclosure and High-Performance Components of the Tesla-Powered Motor Compartment

Under the hood, you’ll find a standard custom enclosure that houses three of the five Tesla modules. And the motor compartment features a custom CNC top contactor box, a DC-DC converter, a Hyper 9 motor with 175 foot-pounds of torque and 120 horsepower, an AC-DC charger, and an SME controller sitting on top of a custom cooling block.

Retro Driving with Custom Hyper 9 SME Display and Custom Controls in Your Car

Inside the car, you’ll find replica gauges, a retro sound radio, a reproduction shift knob, a gas pedal, a clutch pedal, and a brake pedal. The custom Hyper 9 SME display gives us information and diagnostics about what’s going on. And with four custom switches, you can easily control forward and reverse, regen profiles, charge profiles for 110 or 220, and a heater.

But perhaps the most exciting thing about this car is the 1772 charging port, which allows you to charge the car quickly and easily. And when you’re behind the wheel, you’ll feel the power of the Hyper 9 motor as you punch it and boost down the road.

So, not only is this electric Speedster fast and powerful, but it’s also much more environmentally friendly than its gas-guzzling counterparts. With zero emissions and a low carbon footprint, electric cars are truly the future of automotive engineering. And with companies like EV West making it easier than ever to convert your gas-powered car to electric, there’s no reason not to make the switch.
