Saks Fifth Avenue Changes the Dealership Experience with Lucid Air Demo Drives

Saks Fifth Avenue is changing the way that consumers purchase new EVs. The luxury shopping destination and e-commerce platform has partnered with Lucid Motors, the California-based luxury EV maker. In the premier partnership, shoppers can demo drive a Lucid Air at select brick-and-mortar Saks department stores.

Changing the Way Automakers Sell EVs

This new partnership shows how innovative marketing programs can change the way that vehicles are sold. It’s no longer necessary to sell cars at traditional dealerships, as unique collaborations can offer showroom space and still offer demo driving experiences.

Saks.com will also feature a dedicated landing page for Lucid, where shoppers can learn all about the exceptional Lucid Air and the upcoming Lucid Gravity SUV EV.

Schedule Your Lucid Demo Drive in Beverly Hills, CA

Drivers who want to test drive a Lucid automobile at Saks must visit stores in Beverly Hills starting on Feb. 8. Additional demo drives will be available in Atlanta, GA; Boca Raton, FL; Chicago, IL; Greenwich, CT; Houston, TX; Las Vegas, NV; and Troy, MI. Customers will have to schedule their demo drives either online at Saks.com or in person at the department stores.

Marc Metrick, CEO of Saks, said about the partnership, “With Lucid, we’re providing our customers with new, unique offerings outside of our traditional assortment, and we’re excited for them to experience this innovative offering online and in our stores for the first time.”

In December 2023, Saks featured the Lucid Air Sapphire at the New York flagship store. The performance EV was lowered into The Vault at Saks Fifth Avenue, which is a section of the store that typically features high fine jewelry and watches. The challenging installation had to pass through the legendary atrium designed by Rem Koolhaas.

The digital campaign through Saks.com features a landing page that showcases the experience of driving and owning a Lucid. The collaboration will include an email campaign, social media content, and the option to schedule those demo drives.

The Air Touring delivers an estimated 411 miles of range with additional horsepower and torque along with a capable all-wheel-drive system. The Air Grand Touring has a range that reaches 516 miles and this epic distance is enhanced by the bespoke interior and all-wheel drive.
