  • Genesis Motor North America and Genesis of Atlanta gave $20,000 to the local Boys and Girls Club to help with STEAM education.
  • Genesis plans to offer only fully-electric vehicles by 2030.

As the Genesis brand expands, the luxury automaker is adding standalone retail facilities in the United States. With the first store opening in Atlanta, Georgia, Genesis is celebrating its sixth standalone facility.

Building a Southern Stronghold

Georgia is a good choice as the brand’s parent company, Hyundai Motor Company, assembles cars in nearby Alabama, and its sister company, Kia, has an assembly plant in West Point, Georgia. In 2024, Genesis will assemble the GV70 in nearby Montgomery, Alabama. Wes Ellis of Jim Ellis Automotive Group will own and operate the new Genesis standalone facility.

Genesis of Atlanta features the luxurious lineup in a dealership with an open floor plan designed to create a bespoke retail experience. The location will feature the Genesis Concierge to pair customers with a dedicated personal shopper who will arrange test drives and vehicle deliveries. Customers can enjoy test drives from their homes or at the retail facility in Atlanta.

Claudia Marquez, CEO of Genesis Motor North America, said about the new facility, “The southeastern United States remains an important market for our brand, and we are pleased to be introducing Genesis of Atlanta to customers in Georgia.”

Ellis said about the new facility, “We look forward to welcoming the community into our new home to introduce them to the impressive Genesis product lineup.”

Genesis Motor North America and Genesis of Atlanta are already giving back to the community, as the groups partnered with a $20,000 donation to the Chamblee Boys & Girls Club. The gift will go towards Genesis Gives, which supports science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) education.

Safe, Electrified, and Protected

The new Genesis store is the sixth in the United States, and Genesis Motor North America is working with motor groups around the country to open more. Currently, Genesis retail facilities share space with Hyundai vehicles. As the brand grows, it is separating itself as a luxury leader dedicated to building well-equipped, safe, and sustainable vehicles.

The brand has garnered plenty of positive press thanks to its standard safety features and a plethora of Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The automaker also includes a 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty. Competing athletic-luxury brands like BMW and Mercedes-Benz might have more name recognition, but they don’t offer the same safety tech and warranty benefits.

The innovative brand is working toward sustainability with its athletic and elegant lineup of sedans, SUVs, and EVs that include the G70, G80, GV80, the Electrified GV70 and Electrified G80. The automaker has announced its goal of becoming a fully-electric brand by 2030 to deliver carbon neutrality by 2035.
