As if to reward Stellantis’ bravery, the low-volume Citroën Ami Buggy sold out in record time, with 100% of them spoken for in 20 minutes.
It took precisely 17 minutes and 28 seconds for every single one of the ultra-limited Citroën Ami Buggy EVs to find a buyer, immediately rewarding the risk that parent company Stellantis took on by deciding to bring the beach-cruisin’ Buggy to market in the first place.
What’s more, Citroën is reporting that more than 1700 people expressed a desire to buy an Ami Buggy in the minutes between the entire production run being sold and the option being pulled from the website. (!) That’s an incredible show of support for the ultra-niche little car, and maybe— just maybe— a little bit of a nudge to Stellantis’ brass for them to take a few more risks, product-wise.
What do you guys think? Will it take more than a few electric beach buggies for Stellantis to green-light an 800 HP, all-electric Dodge Viper, or is this just the beginning for a new era of wild Chrysler concepts to come? Scroll on down to the comments and let us know!
