From rip-roaring test rides to jaw-dropping vehicle debuts, the Bay Area proved to be the perfect stage for this electric festival.
A Test Drive Festival of Cutting-Edge Vehicles
Picture this: two runways at Alameda Point transformed into a playground of innovation and excitement. We’re talking thousands of Electrify Expo Bay Area attendees revving up for over 20,000 test drives of phenomenal vehicles like the Tesla Model 3, Ford F150 Lightning, VinFast VF 8, Volkswagen ID.4, and Polestar 2 and 3, and the list goes on! It was a test drive festival that left everyone buzzing with excitement. As one attendee said, “I felt like a kid in a candy store, except the candy was these amazing electric rides!”
A Sneak Peek into Tomorrow
One of the highlights of the event was the exclusive North American debut of three remarkable vehicles. Attendees at Electrify Expo Bay Area got up close and personal with the Volvo EX90, a snazzy 100% electric SUV that can comfortably seat seven adults. And guess what? It has all-wheel drive and even a one-pedal drive feature. Talk about futuristic! Then we’ve got the Volkswagen ID.Buzz, a groovy modern take on the classic VW bus that’s fueling up with some “new-school fuel.” And last but not least, the Polestar 3, an SUV with sleek style and an eco-friendly cabin. Trust me – these rides were a preview of the future! Many of these EVs are set to hit the roads in 2024, and are worth all the hype!
The Electrify Thrill Zone Takes Excitement to New Heights!
But hold onto your hats, because the fun didn’t stop there. The Electrify Thrill Zone, a brand new addition to the Electrify Expo Bay Area, offered an adrenaline-pumping experience that left attendees on the edge of their seats. Professional driver, Collete Davis took participants on heart-racing rides in the Ford Mustang Mach-E drift car, boasting an astounding 1400 horsepower. Imagine the G’s on your body while on the straights and turns in this version of the Mach-E… With over 1400 horsepower, it’s an adrenaline rush like no other. And for all you water enthusiasts out there, the Fliteboard eFoil electric surfboard, offered a gripping ride on the bay. Plus, there were e-bikes and e-scooters zooming down the Alameda air strip. It was a thrill-seeker’s paradise!
Electrify Showoff is Redefining EV Customization and Car Culture
Electrify Showoff driven by Yokohama once again proved why it’s the ultimate event for EV customization and car culture. This year’s show at Electrify Expo Bay Area featured an impressive lineup of nearly 15 vendors and over 60 vehicles, making it the place to be.
One of the highlights was the jaw-dropping collection of EV conversions showcased in the Toyo booth. The Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley and Ruined EV clubs, as well as individual participants, displayed their stunning OE custom builds. But the real showstopper on the main stage was the FC-1 Nitro Rallycross EV race car from Yokohama. Electrify Showoff also had fantastic support from vendors like Meguiar’s, JackRabbit, Ceramic Coating, Spek, and Artdesign. It was an incredible collaboration!
Throughout the weekend, vendors seized the opportunity to engage with consumers and captivate audiences through captivating product demonstrations in their booths. The word is spreading rapidly, and clubs from the East Coast are already signing up to compete in upcoming shows in DC and NY. There’s even talk of a monumental gathering in Austin for an epic East Coast versus West Coast showdown!
Electrify Showoff driven by Yokohama once again shattered expectations, leaving attendees awe-struck at Electrify Expo Bay Area and cementing its reputation as the premier event for EV enthusiasts and automotive aficionados alike.
Cutting-Edge E-Bikes and E-Motorcycles
The e-bike and e-motorcycle enthusiasts showed up big time in SF! Some seriously cool electric bikes for both adults and kids, and the Showoff lounge was filled with awesome motorcycles. The Best of Show winners in the e-bike and motorcycle categories were a sight to see. The Best E-Bike award went to Chris Cordova’s Super73, which showcased an exceptional blend of style, performance, and innovation. On the other hand, the Best Motorcycle honor was claimed by Hugo Eccles’ XP Zero, a cutting-edge masterpiece that pushed the boundaries of electric motorcycle design and engineering. These remarkable creations left a lasting impression on all who witnessed them, further cementing the growing prominence of electric-powered two-wheelers in the world of transportation.
Electrify Showoff Takes the Stage
“Electrify Showoff SF was epic, insane, wild, amazing, absolutely incredible,” mentioned Neil Tjin, Director of Electrify Showoff. “The energy in the Showoff area surpassed all expectations, captivating participants, vendors, and onlookers alike. The music reverberated with excitement, creating a joyful atmosphere where everyone reveled in the moment, while the electric vehicle community united strongly, offering unwavering support to one another.”
Team Ruined EV Dominates Electrify Showoff
Ruined EV from Southern California wowed the crowds with their stunning collection of custom EVs. CJ Cardenalli‘s sedan gained attention at the Meguiar’s booth, and Meric Cuevas’ widebody Tesla emerged as the winner of the highly contested Best of Show category. Neil was blown away by the EV aftermarket rapid growth, anticipating East Coast surprises and thanking the awesome attendees, “the EV aftermarket is totally blowing up! It’s incredible to witness the enthusiasm and determination of all those competitors and vendors at Electrify Showoff. Some folks may swear by the West Coast, but I gotta say, I’m super excited to see what the East Coast brings to the table. I’ve got this hunch that DC and NY are going to turn up the heat, and word on the street is my old stomping grounds or Miami are getting some bangers ready for October. Huge thanks to all the folks who showed up at Electrify Showoff SF – you all absolutely killed it! Let’s make 2024 even more epic, shall we?”
