Persico Marine is raising the bar with a fast, quiet luxury yacht tender styled by the legendary designers at Zagato.
While best known for their work on legendary cars for brands like Aston Martin, Lancia, and Ferrari, the Rivolta-Zagato family has made quite a name for itself in the marine industry in recent years – and their latest design, the Perisco Marine Zagato 100.2, looks set to keep the accolades coming. It’s gorgeous!
“The project started from a shared concept: the idea that the boat should be a collector’s piece,” explained Andrea Zagato, the design studio’s CEO, during the 100.2’s reveal.
That reveal happened during an online preview hosted at Zagato’s Milanese headquarters. There, it was revealed that the clean-lined watercraft is motivated by an inboard, DeepSpeed electric drive system that is powered by lithium batteries. No power figures are provided, but Perisco claims the 100.2 should be able to cruise at more than 30 MPH, with a top speed in excess of 50 MPH (45 knots).
Towing the boat should be relatively easy, too. Despite the heavy batteries, Persico Marine claims the 100.2 tips the scales at a relatively modest 5,500 lbs., with the weight being kept low thanks to the use of advanced composite materials in the Zagato 100.2’s construction (read: carbon fiber & e-glass).
