SWFT Launches New 20″ BMX E-bike

SWFT BMX

Despite being a huge market, BMX fans haven’t really had an e-bike to call their own — but that’s about to change!

SWFT has unveiled a new electric BMX bike that combines old-school design with modern technology. The bike features a short frame, tall handlebars, 20-inch wheels, a rigid fork, and front and rear pegs. The single-speed drivetrain and flat black paint job help round out the look of a classic BMX bike.

But because this is an e-bike, it comes with a little something extra: a complete Class 2 electric bicycle drivetrain ready to be unleashed. The 350W rear-hub motor can be controlled using either the handlebar-mounted half-twist throttle or the pedal assist. And as a Class 2 e-bike, this ride can get up to 20 mph.

The lithium-ion battery, built into the downtube, offers a claimed 35 miles of range — though if you use the throttle a lot, that number will drop sharply.

To help you still try some of your sweet BMX tricks, this is a pretty lightweight e-bike at just 39.7 pounds. But don’t go too crazy with those stunts — even SWFT itself warns riders: “Because of throttle and display wires, the handlebar cannot spin 360 degrees. This e-bike is in the BMX style, but not designed for professional tricks or stunts.”

So while the SWFT BMX may resemble a classic BMX bike, it isn’t really designed for extreme stunts. Instead, it’s more for riders looking for a lightweight, maneuverable bike with the bonus of electric assistance.

The SWFT BMX is already shipping out to buyers. You can grab it for $999 on the SWFT website, or you can get it at a discount from Best Buy’s website at just $735.
