When you think of the Electrify Showoff, you’re probably imagining rows of modified Teslas and custom e-bikes (okay, maybe not “imagining,” but you get the point). But this year’s event at Electrify Expo in New York? It was next level. With record-breaking attendance, stunning custom EVs, and some seriously unique builds, it was a dream for any automotive enthusiast.

Neil Tjin, the Director of Electrify Showoff, Driven by Yokohama Tire, summed it up perfectly: “New York was one for the books, as we had record-breaking numbers on Saturday, and Sunday was the icing on the cake!” (And trust me, that cake had some serious flavor.) From the moment you walked past the Amazon Recharge Zone, showcasing two decked-out Teslas, one of which was a 2021 Tesla Model 3 Performance owned by David Perez (who casually took home Best Audio, Best Frunk, and Best Sedan), you knew this wasn’t your average car show.
Custom EVs, EV Conversions, Crowd Favorites, and Hands-On Experiences
Right at the main entrance of Electrify Showoff, Polykup showcased two insanely clean EV conversions: a Ford Bronco and DMC Delorean, both built by Sam Polyak. These builds were legit works of art that drew massive crowds and quickly became fan favorites. The Bronco took home Best Truck, no surprise there. And the Delorean? It wasn’t just for “Back to the Future” fans, it was awarded Best EV Conversion, Best Coupe, and Best Interior (is there anything this ride didn’t win?).
When you walked through the show, one booth that was impossible to miss was Hankook Tires. I mean, their spot was always packed. People couldn’t get enough of their racing simulators and tire displays. It’s no wonder their setup is a crowd favorite every year. And if that wasn’t enough to keep the energy at 100, Top Gear UK made sure to bring the noise. Literally. Their team had Tesla exhaust sound systems (and other EVs) echoing throughout the weekend, adding an extra shot of adrenaline to the event. It was the kind of experience that made you stop in your tracks, just to soak it all in.
Lectec had a unique educational product on how to build e-skateboards, which drew in the DIY crowd eager to learn. Drive Electric was also onsite, bringing awareness to the benefits of going electric and breaking down all the important tax incentives and perks of EV ownership. The Tesla Owners Club of NY also made an appearance, educating spectators on everything they need to know about Tesla ownership. And if custom mini e-bikes are your thing, Envii Modz was there, showing off some seriously creative builds that had people talking.
Super73 and Surron Steal the Show at Electrify Showoff NY with Custom E-Bikes
Now, when it comes to e-bikes and e-scooters, Electrify Showoff NY absolutely crushed it this year. I’m talking about next-level stuff. “We’ve seen some pretty wild Super73 rides in our travels,” Tjin stated, “but New York took it to a whole new level.” The Super73 community and ECS (East Coast Scooters) Jokers Garage and Lounge came out in full force, showing off some of the top e-bikes and e-scooters we’ve seen all year. Seriously, the level of detail and customization was insane.
A few of the Super73s that really stood out came from Lucas Kuklinski, Shelby Chan, Moe Pellot, and Ivan Fernando. These guys brought their A-game. But it was Stefan Barba who took home Best E-Bike presented by Super73 with his fully decked-out, carbon fiber and leather 2022 Super73 RX Mojave. That ride was in a league of its own, and it was obvious why it snagged the top spot. (I mean, carbon fiber and leather? That’s a combo I didn’t know I needed in my life.)
One of the standout winners at Electrify Showoff NY was Joker, who absolutely cleaned up with his Surron Light Bee X. He took home not one, but two major awards: Best Paint presented by Meguiar’s and Best Motorcycle presented by Power Lithium. The design and attention to detail on Joker’s custom bike made it a real showstopper. HIs Surron Light Bee X was a true work of art, earning well-deserved recognition across the board.
“The whole e-bike and scooter scene at Showoff NY was something else.” If you thought you knew what custom e-bikes could look like, this event definitely made you rethink that.

The Vibe: Custom EVs, Killer Merch, and Collabs
The whole vibe at Electrify Showoff was next-level this year. Dennis Da Menace was on DJ duty at the Yokohama Tire stage, keeping the energy high all weekend. And the e-bike and scooter lounge was basically the spot to be. Custom rides everywhere, people hanging out, exchanging ideas. It’s the kind of community you can’t help but want to be part of, even if you’re just dipping your toes into the whole custom EV scene. It was all about pushing the limits, whether you were rocking a modified e-bike, a clean EV swap, or some serious aftermarket mods.
One collaboration that stood out was Power Lithium teaming up with Soundz Speed Shop. Together, they delivered some of the most mind-blowing custom e-bikes, motorcycles, and scooters we’ve seen. They brought serious performance and style, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the custom EV world.
“I’ve gotta give a shoutout to POR-15, the experts in rust prevention, clear coats and restoration materials, too,” shared Tjin. “They brought last year’s Best of Show winner, AJ Velasco’s wide-body Tesla Model 3 Performance built by 66 Customs, and it’s still turning heads.” And speaking of attention-grabbing, George Li’s Tesla Model Y LR had kids (and honestly, a fair few adults) chasing after bubbles coming out of its exhaust. It was one of those “wait, is that really happening?” moments. Spoiler: it definitely was.
It’s Gotta Be the Shoes
But what’s an event without some killer merch? Get Money Kicks and Peotter’s Auto Body & Spa weren’t just showing off some insane kicks (yes, shoes), they were the ones setting the tone for the whole weekend with their gear. I mean, how can you not love an event that combines custom EVs and street/life-style? Oh, and this year’s Best Kicks presented by Get Money Kicks award went to Stephanie Wong and her Bathing Ape x Adidas NMDs.
Custom Tesla Model 3 Wins Best of Show
And speaking of the top winners, we can’t overlook Americus Cuevas. His custom 2018 Tesla Model 3 LR RWD, done up in full JDM VIP Bippu style, took home the coveted Best of Show presented by Yokohama Tire award. Cuevas’ M3 also snagged Best Wheel/Tire Package presented by AlloyGator. Coming all the way from the West Coast and rolling on Falken Tires, the attention to detail on his Tesla, from the custom wheels to the full VIP aesthetic, had the crowd in awe and secured its place at the top of the show.
If you’re still wondering whether this scene is for you, here’s the kicker: whether you’re deep into the EV conversion game, just getting started on a custom EV project, or still dreaming up your perfect aftermarket setup, there’s a place for you in this community. “It’s a place where pushing boundaries is the name of the game, and where every conversion, every swap, every custom part is a statement of individuality,” said Tjin.
Electrify Showoff, Driven by Yokohama Tire, is a celebration of the culture, the craftsmanship, and the people behind these incredible builds. And if you weren’t there, well, there’s always next year. But fair warning: it’ll be even harder to top this one.
Let’s just say, New York really did break all the records. Neil wasn’t kidding.
