2023 Polestar 3 Revealed

2023 Polestar 3 | Electric SUV

This week, Swedish performance EV brand Polestar dropped its most anticipated new product yet: the all-new 2023 Polestar 3 crossover.

As the brand’s first SUV, the 3 is the most mainstream product offering yet from the fledgling EV brand— especially as the company tries to expand into America’s red-hot crossover market and take on the dominant Tesla Model Y. “This is a major milestone for our company,” said Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO. “(It’s) one that boosts our growth trajectory and takes us into our next phase.”

As far as the vehicle itself goes, the Polestar 3 will launch with a dual-motor drivetrain and a large battery pack capable of delivering over 370 miles of range (WLTP). Advanced autonomous features powered by a best-in-class LiDAR solution from Luminar with centralized NVIDIA computing power will pair with ultra-fast EV charging to one-up the car’s competitors, and lower-priced, single-motor options are sure to follow, as well.

“Polestar 3 is the SUV for the electric age. Our design identity evolves with this high-end large luxury EV, with a strong, individual brand character,” adds Ingenlath. “With this car, we bring the ‘sport’ back to the Sport Utility Vehicle, staying true to our performance roots.”

No official word on pricing, yet, but you can expect the new 3 to slot in just above the Volvo C40 Recharge and compete head-to-head with the premium versions of the Model Y.
