There are nearly 1 Billion motorcyclists worldwide, and the number of riders who ride electric motorcycles is growing. Zero Motorcycles unveils its 2024 model year lineup today at EICMA, the massive annual motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. They’re continuing most of their line, but adding a couple of new models for 2024, and the prices are impressive.
The All-New 2024 Zero S Motorcycle
A notable model for 2024 is Zero S Motorcycle. Positioned around the SR/F and SR/S models, it features a 14.4kWh battery and a price tag just shy of $15,000. It has a new motor and is trying to strike a balance between performance and efficiency. It offers a claimed city range of up to 154 miles, or a mixed city/highway range of 113 miles. Top speed is an electronically-limited 104 mph. It’ll take 4 hours to charge from 0-95% on a level 2 charger, or 1.3 hours if you get the optional 6kW rapid charger.
“Every innovation from Zero Motorcycles stands as a testament to over 16 years of relentless development and a staggering 165 million miles ridden by our loyal owners,” said Sam Paschel, Zero Motorcycles CEO. “In an industry where every launch from Zero shapes history we are proud to unveil the latest chapters in our legacy.”
There’s also an SR model exclusively for the European market.

2024 Zero SR/S Motorcycle
The fully faired Zero SR/S Motorcycle gets a new color, red. I’ve seen an original blue SR/S that was painted Ferrari red, and it looks stunning. Zero’s production take on this does not disappoint. With its big battery with 17.3 kWh, it offers a claimed city range of up to 171 miles, or a mixed city/highway range of 116 miles. Top speed is an electronically-limited 124 mph. It’ll take 2.2 hours to charge from 0-95% on a level 2 charger, or 1.1 hours if you get the optional 6kW rapid charger. Compared to the recent price drop on the 2022-23 model year bikes, the 2024 Zero SR/S comes in at about a grand over that price, at $20,995, with several options you can add on.
2024 Zero SR/F Motorcycle
The Zero SR/F remains largely unchanged, the Streetfighter is very close in spec to the SR/S. Claimed mileage is 176 miles city, 117 miles on a combination of city and highway. 2.2 hours to charge to 95% on a level 2 charger, 1.1 hours if you buy the optional 6kW rapid charger. MSRP is $20,495.

Zero DS-LINE
Zero launched their adventure bike, the DSR/X last year. Their dual-sport line is meant for both on- and off-road riding, and the DSR/X is the flagship. For 2024, it comes in at the top end of the range, at $22.995, other specs are similar to the S-Line bikes, with 179 miles of range in the city, or a combined city/highway range of 107 miles from the 17.3 kWh battery. Top speed on this bike is an electronically-limited 112 mph.
There’s also a DSR version, which comes in at $19,995, with a less-powerful motor and smaller, 15.6kWh battery. City range is 155 miles, city/highway combined range is 100 miles.
The DS model is an even more moderately-priced bike, at $15,995. For that you get a 14.4 kWh battery, a city range of 144 miles and a city/highway combined range of 98 miles.
Zero FX-LINE
The Zero FX is the most affordable bike in the lineup, at $12,495. It’s the simplest and lightest, with a 7.2 kWh battery and plenty of on- or off-road riding range. In the city, they claim a 102 mile range and city/highway combined range of up to 57 miles.
The FXE is the result of a concept bike that Huge Design created in 2018. With an electric motorcycle, nothing has to be the same as a traditional ICE-powered bike. Their design was breathtaking, and is often the case with conceptual designs, little of that design actually makes it into production. This time was the exception, the production bike is nearly identical to their concept.
Now, of course, we’re hoping that the new SR-X concept, also from Huge Design, makes it into production. That bike is the coolest, most Tron-like bike I’ve ever seen.
Exclusive Zero European Models
Zero is making 11kW offerings for the FXE, S and DS models. Also, the 2024 Zero SR and DSR models come as the first A2 license-compliant models from Zero as well as being the first and only electric motorcycles on the market to enable simple dealer-installed upgrades to A3 license-compliant performance. A revolutionary concept, this allows the motorcycles to evolve with the rider, something that’s impractical for ICE bikes and thus far unheard of in other electric offerings.
Zero continues to press ahead in the powersports industry, also including their 10-year partnership with Polaris to electrify their line of powersports vehicles.

My experiences with the DSRX in the limited amount of time i had with it in real world conditions suggests its highway range is significantly less range than the suggested mixed/highway statistic indicates.
I rode one from a dealer that was at 77 percent charge, with full luggage (terrible idea btw) for about 25 miles it dropped down to 28 percent remaining by the time i got back to the dealer.
So far i’ve tested every variation of the DSR with the full size battery packs, this is by far the biggest loser on flat terrain, at a suggested price of 24k I can’t imagine ever buying it for that price or the range performance i experienced. The state of charge of each one i was allowed to test was very similar 75-85 percent.
The SRS with no range extender came in second to last in terms of range but a more realistic 55-75 miles, they are fun to ride if you scored one at a price of about 12k it’d be a nice second or third vehicle for short highway commutes between towns. Realistically you’d need a
The all time top scoring model from Zero remains its 2018 DSR, the dirt bike config with full size battery and range extender, about 100 miles of real world usage (mostly highway). Priced at 14k at the time, that one wins in every way compared to the others for practical reasons.
