If Willys Designed the Jeep Today

WILLYS CJ LIKE ELECTRIC OFF-ROADER IS MADE FOR QUICK ADVENTURES AND CARGO HAULING TASKS

The classic Willys Jeep MB was built to take two people and their gear along for the ride. But – what if it were designed today?

That seems to be the question being answered by French startup, Kilow, who developed the all-electric La Bagnole UTV as a modern, go-anywhere, urban runabout for two.

Its makers call the La Bagnole a vehicle that’s, “stripped of the superfluous, ideal for daily journeys and designed to be fun and practical.” That seems to include driving your electric off-roader – well, off-road, but also through the more graffiti-covered underpasses of the urban jungle.

The 50 MPH UTV offers a range of 87 miles per charge, which isn’t bad considering the whole thing weighs in at less than 800 lbs., which plays into the old Jeep CJ vibe well. In fact, the Willys vibe is strongest from the front, though the slab-sided cargo area and fully open door remind us of the old “mail Jeeps” of the 1970s and early 80s. Take a look at the car for yourself, below, then let us know what you think in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
