itselectric’s innovative approach involves providing and installing public curbside EV charging at no cost to building owners or the City of Detroit. The company revealed the first Detroit properties that will receive these chargers: IBEW Local 58 Headquarters, Dutch Girl Donuts, The Schvitz, Lager House, and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. The chargers will be available for public use commencing in February of 2024.

itselectric provides compact, aesthetically pleasing Level-2 curbside EV charging, distinguishing itself as the sole curbside charging network that offers revenue sharing to property owners. itselectric takes on the responsibility of installing and maintaining a low-profile charger without any associated costs for the property owner. The innovative company also shares the profits generated from these charging stations with the property owners.

itselectric’s Strategic Partnerships and Grants in the EV Mobility Ecosystem

itselectric has secured grants from DTE Energy and the Michigan Office of Future Mobility and Electrification (OFME) through the Michigan Mobility Funding Platform (MMFP). The journey of itselectric began in the Detroit Smart Parking Lab (DSPL). The DSPL, a collaborative effort between Bedrock, Bosch, Ford, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), is designed to nurture tech startups focusing on last-mile mobility, sustainable parking, and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure enhancement.

itselectric has forged a strategic partnership with Grounded RV, Newlab, and Michigan Central. Grounded RV offers electric recreational vehicles. Their ranges span up to 250 miles. Grounded G1 and G2 electric camper vans are available for rent at Michigan Central, with charging facilities provided through Michigan Central and Newlab’s 15th Street EV Charging Enclave. Renters can rent the vehicles via the platform RVshare.


ChargerHelp! Launches EVSE Training Program with Michigan Central

ChargerHelp!, an industry leader in operations, maintenance, and workforce development for the EV industry, has launched the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Technician (EVSE) Training Program in collaboration with Michigan Central. Participants will take the SAE International EVSE Technicians Certification Test as part of the program. These trained and certified technicians will support itselectric’s curbside EV charging deployments throughout Detroit.
