California Energy Commission Offers $25 Million for EV Charging

California Energy Commission partners with EnergIIZE to offer EV charging funding
  • The California Energy Commission program will award funding up to $750,000 to non-profits, schools, tribes, and companies in low-income areas of California.
  • The application for the CEC program closes on August 18.
  • The funding covers charging equipment and electrical grid upgrades.
  • Applicants should already use medium-duty or heavy-duty electric vehicles.

The California Energy Commission and CALSTART are funding incentives for zero-emissions commercial vehicles. The Energy Infrastructure Incentives for Zero-Emission Commercial Vehicles or EnergIIZE opens its funding lane through August 18, 2023, at 5 PM PT.

The Organizations Behind the Innovative Project

EnergIIZE

CALSTART is a non-profit that works with over 300 innovative members and agencies to create an efficient and clean high-tech transportation industry. In the US, non-profit’s offices are conveniently located in New York, Michigan, Colorado, and California. CALSTART is dedicated to overcoming barriers that slow the transition to clean vehicles.

EnergIIZE Commercial Vehicles provides infrastructure incentives through California Energy Commission block grants. The recipients include transit agencies, school districts, owners/operators, public and private fleets, and public charging sites that transition to battery electric or hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles.

The California Energy Commission (CEC) is dedicated to making California a 100 percent clean-energy state. The CEC works to reduce energy costs and the environmental impact so Californians can have a safe and reliable energy supply.
