bp pulse and Waffle House Are Teaming Up to Deliver Ultrafast EV Charging at Convenient 24/7 Locations

  • bp pulse and Waffle House will launch Ultrafast EV charging with 400kW DC fast chargers (CCS & NACS) across the Southern U.S. starting in 2026.
  • Each Waffle House site will include six ultrafast EV charging bays, providing fast charging access 24/7 alongside food and rest options.
  • This initiative builds on bp pulse’s U.S. expansion strategy, including recent collaborations with Hertz and deployments across more than 8,000 retail locations.

You pull into a Waffle House at 2AM craving hash browns, but what if your Rivian R1T could also guzzle 400kW while you down a smothered, covered All-Star Special? That’s the future bp pulse and Waffle House just cooked up.

This is an agreement between two American icons, one fueled by syrup and grits, the other by electrons and public demand. bp pulse announced it’s working with Waffle House to install ultrafast EV charging stations across multiple Southern and Southeastern states, including Georgia, Texas, and Florida.

Your next roadside stop for waffles, or in my case flat iron steak and eggs, could also be where your electric vehicle gets powered up, possibly in less time than it takes to finish a double order of hashbrowns, scattered and smothered.

Each location is expected to feature six charging bays equipped with 400kW DC fast chargers. That’s enough juice to give compatible EVs up to 200 miles of range in roughly 15 minutes.

They’ll also include both CCS and NACS connectors, making it simple for drivers to plug in without the hassle of figuring out which connector works, especially when all they want is a quick charge and a hot meal in the middle of the night.

So why choose Waffle House instead of a typical big-box parking lot or some windswept plaza lit by a few flickering LEDs? Because Waffle House keeps its doors open around the clock. That includes holidays, hurricanes, snow storms, and even the quiet hours of a Tuesday at 4AM.

That kind of reliability matters, especially for drivers who need more than just a place to plug in.

David Repp, Director of Innovation at Waffle House, stated, “Charging up while fueling up on an All-Star Special will be convenient and fast—a perfect option for enjoying the Waffle House experience while charging your EV on the go.”

bp pulse is no stranger to these kinds of collaborations. They’re building out EV hubs with Hertz, including a charging site near Boston Logan International Airport. They’ve also been quietly adding EV stations to the 8,000+ locations in bp’s national retail footprint, which includes familiar names like TravelCenters of America, Thorntons, and Amoco.

“Adding an iconic landmark like Waffle House to our growing portfolio of EV charging sites is such an exciting opportunity,” said Sujay Sharma, CEO of bp pulse Americas. “As an integrated energy company, bp is committed to providing efficient solutions like ultrafast charging to support our customers’ mobility needs.”

The first bp pulse/Waffle House sites are expected to go live in 2026. That may sound like the distant future, but it aligns with EV adoption forecasts and infrastructure demand in the U.S., especially in areas where long-range highway travel still suffers from inconsistent charging options.

Everyone knows that EV charging across the U.S. can be unpredictable. Finding a high-speed charger that also has decent food nearby can be even more frustrating. This collaboration between bp pulse and Waffle House offers something refreshingly practical.

Comfort and convenience in a single stop. Instead of pulling into a cold, minimalist lot with vending machines and canned cold brew, drivers can enjoy a plate of waffles while their EV powers up at 400kW.

And honestly, who’s complaining?
