Crazy Electric Cycleboard X-Quad E-board

Cycleboard X-Quad rolling down a dirt path
  • Stable 4-wheel off-road riding.
  • Steer by leaning, like a skateboard.
  • A claimed range of 50 miles.

Cycleboard’s latest beast, the X-Quad 3000, packs a ton of power and range into a big, off-road skateboard with a handlebar. Two motors (one on each rear wheel) put out a whopping 1500W each, for 3000W of power to take you just about anywhere off-road. With great power comes great responsibility, or in this case, a great need for stopping power. Both wheels in the back have hydraulic disc brakes, and both front wheels have mechanical disc brakes, along with regenerative braking from both motors.

The X-Quad has an interesting steering system. It resembles that of a skateboard, where you lean to steer, but instead of trucks, it has double-wishbone 4-wheel independent suspension to smooth the ride and offer responsive steering when you lean.

It ain’t light, at 125 lbs (or 100 lbs if you remove the 1800Wh battery), but it will take you anywhere you want to go at up to 27 mph, they claim it can climb inclines up to 40%.

It has what they call an “Intelligent LCD” in full color, with 4 riding modes (one of which is a golf mode!) plus reverse, a USB charge port, password theft protection, and even a parameter lock for fleet managers. I think I want to work for a company that has a fleet of these!

The main body is made of aluminum, and the deck up top is laminated wood with grip tape for easy grip. The wheels are two-piece aluminum to make it easy to replace worn-out tires. The maximum suggested rider weight is 350 lbs. The handlebar folds down to make it easier to transport.

There is an integrated headlight and tail light, with the latter also acting as a brake light for safety. There are a variety of accessories, including front cargo racks, smartphone mounts, and even a golf bag mount.

They even have a video to give you an idea of how it rides off-road:
