What if you mixed a bike with an SUV? That’s what Magicycle is saying it’s done with a new electric mountain bike.
Magicycle, the Chinese e-mobility company, has launched its first full-suspension eMTB, called the Deer. The company is calling the Deer an “e-bike SUV” because it combines performance with comfort.
The Deer comes equipped with a 750 W geared rear-hub motor that can reach 1,100 W for 96 Nm of torque, and it offers seven levels of pedal-assist up to 28 mph. The bike also features a Shimano 7-speed gearset, a half-twist throttle, and a removable 52 V/20 Ah downtube battery made of LG 21700 cells. That battery is estimated to provide between 60 and 80 miles of range per charge – not bad for an eMTB.
The Deer is designed to handle off-road terrain with its hydraulic lockout suspension fork and rear shock, 26-inch rims wrapped in 4-inch Kenda fat tires, and hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm rotors. The bike also has a large rear rack and can accommodate riders who are 5.4 ft up to 6.6 ft, with a maximum load capacity of 400 lbs.
The Deer also has a user-programmable color LCD display above the handlebar stem, which includes a USB charging port, an integrated LED headlight, and a brake tail-light. Overall, it has way more going on than the stripped-down Commuter that Magicycle released earlier.
With all of these features, though, it’s no wonder the Deer weighs in at a robust 92.3 lbs. (Have fun getting that onto your bike rack.)
The Magicycle Deer is currently available for purchase for $2,699 with a limited-time $300 discount.
