Yamaha Offers 3 New E-bikes

The high-tech Japanese brand is branching out into the rapidly growing e-bike market with three new electrified 2-wheelers.

Yamaha is having quite the year. The brand has announced a wide lineup of electric scooters and mopeds, and now we can see that three e-bikes have been added to the Yamaha portfolio. There’s going to be one each for mountain, gravel, and urban riding.

The mountain bike, the Moro 07, comes with Yamaha’s PW-X3 motor – the brand’s smallest, lightest, and most powerful drive unit. The powertrain uses zero cadence technology to produce 63 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 15.5 mph. The special dual twin frame, with its multiple top and down tubes, offers improved stiffness and handling. The 500 Wh battery, Maxxis 27.5-inch tires, Rockshox Lyrik Select front forks, and Shimano XT 1 x12 groupset are all included with the Moro 07 eMTB.

The gravel bike is the Wabash RT. Its PW-ST drive unit also comes with zero cadence technology, and the frame is built to offer a stable, comfortable ride with a lightweight feel. The e-bike also comes with a 500 Wh battery, and it’s additionally equipped with Shimano GRX gears, an automated assistance mode, and an LCD display for ride details.

Then there’s the Crosscore RC for the commuter. It has the same PW-ST drive and 500 Wh battery as the Wabash RT, but it comes with Shimano SL-M2010-9R gears instead. You also get the same zero cadence tech as the other two bikes to give you that e-bike boost on the pavement.

While we don’t know prices for these bikes yet, we can expect to see them go on sale toward the end of 2022.
