UNI Viper Brings Fat-Tire Freedom to the City

Urban Drivestyle Uni Viper: Dodging Is for Others

E-bike maker Urban Drivestyle has launched the UNI Viper, a fat-tire pedelec designed for city commuting and off-road adventuring.

To make this possible, the UNI Viper has a full suspension system to smooth out bumps and give you a more comfortable ride. Other comfort features include the hand-sewn sports saddle that’s made with UV-resistant synthetic leather and comes in a longer seat so your butt doesn’t feel scrunched. Then there are the fat 20×4 inch E-Huntsman tires from Vee, which are smooth enough for the road but have just the right amount of tread for looser, off-road surfaces.

With the aluminum frame, it does weigh about 30 kg (around 66 lbs), so it’s a bit burly. But the look of this e-bike is still very moto-inspired, including the stylized front lamp.

Meanwhile, it comes with a 250 W rear hub motor that can take you up to the European standard of 25 km/h (15.5 mph). The 828 Wh lithium-ion battery can let you go up to 80 km (about 50 miles) on a single charge.

Since we’re still in the pre-sale period, you can make a €990 deposit (about $987) right on the Urban Drivestyle website for the UNI Viper. The pre-sale price is €2,990 (about $2,980), and the cost is expected to go up to €3,590 ($3,578) at its full retail price.
