Lotus fans were thrilled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed recently, with the brand showing off four new vehicles to wow the crowds.
First, it was the world public debut of the 600 HP Eletre, the highly anticipated Hyper SUV. This all-electric wonder marries the utility of an SUV with the exoticism of the brand. It’s no wonder that multiple customers already placed orders for their own right after the unveiling.
The Eletre was joined on stage with three other models: the Emira sports car, the Evija hypercar, and the Emira GT4 race car.
The Emira is gunning to be the new icon of the Lotus lineup, with super car aesthetics and engineering alongside enhanced comfort and intuitive interior design. The all-electric Evija, meanwhile, is set to be Lotus’s most powerful car to enter series production, while the Emira GT4 is gorgeously built to compete on the national and international circuits.
All four cars partook in the iconic Goodwood Hillclimb, driven by 2009 Formula 1 World Drivers’ Champion Jenson Button. The GT4 especially impressed with its screaming V6 — it’s no wonder the GT4 is already sold out for the first year!
Visitors to the Lotus stand this weekend were treated to a “VIP walkaround,” hosted by Andy Jaye. During Jaye’sinterviews with Lotus head honchos, Matt Windle, managing director of Lotus Cars, said, “What an amazing first day at Goodwood – with such a passionate and knowledgeable crowd it never disappoints! The Lotus stand was busy from the moment the gates opened at 7am, and was great to see the fans new and old getting up close to our cars and chatting with our team. If day one was anything to go by, the rest of the weekend will be a massive success too!”
