Kia and Electrify America will provide buyers of the 2023 Kia Niro EV with 500 kWh of free EV charging at 800 stations across the U.S.
Buyers of the excellent Niro EV can get their free energy at any Electrify America charging station in the U.S. This translates to as much as 1,950 free miles of charge – a far cry from the unlimited free charging early Tesla buyers enjoyed, but definitely an added bonus to an already awesome car.
The 2023 Kia Niro EV has a range of 253 miles and comes powered with a 64.8 kWh battery with a 150 kW motor. While plugged into a DC fast charger, the car can go from 10% to 80% charge in about 45 minutes. Electrify America has over 800 of these fast chargers across the country.
Steven Center, COO & EVP of Kia America, said, “With the launch of the new Niro EV, we are expanding our collaboration with Electrify America to enable Niro EV drivers to experience all-electric road trips with the added benefit of quick recharging.”
“Kia and Electrify America understand the importance of DC fast charging for electric vehicle drivers,” said Giovanni Palazzo, president and CEO of Electrify America. “We are thrilled to expand the collaboration and help provide Niro drivers with confident DC fast charging on our coast-to-coast network of 800 stations.”
Kia Niro EV owners can find Electrify America charging stations through their in-car navigation system and can then access the DC charging network through the Electrify America app. When you buy your new 2023 Kia Niro EV, the Kia owner’s portal will provide you with a one-time enrollment code for the app. You’ll then have three years from the date of your purchase to use these complimentary charging credits.
