Nxu Expands EV Charging Solutions Network Amidst NEVI Program Growth

Nxu continues its strategic expansion of EV charging solutions with the acquisition of a prime parcel of land in Kramer Junction, California. This move marks the latest milestone in Nxu’s commitment to advancing the infrastructure needed to power our electrified future.

Under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program, Nxu is rapidly expanding its network of NxuOne™ EV Charging Systems. The company’s CEO, Mark Hanchett, emphasizes their dedication to providing fast and reliable charging experiences for EV drivers across America’s highways: “We are aggressively pursuing optimal sites within NEVI corridors to ensure we’re fully utilizing the opportunity to bring EV drivers fast, reliable charging experiences as quickly as possible.”

With NEVI corridor 7 being a focal point, Nxu is strategically positioning itself to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the California Energy Commission’s NEVI Formula Program. This program offers substantial grant funds to projects deploying high-powered, direct-current fast charger electric vehicle charging infrastructure.


Nxu’s Highway Expansion Strategy and Pursuit of NEVI Grants for EV Charging Solutions

Highlighting the significance of this endeavor, Hanchett states: “Securing these sites is a key step in positioning Nxu as a strong contender for California’s NEVI grants in 2024.”

Nxu’s application for NEVI funding underscores its commitment to expanding its charging infrastructure along major highway corridors, including I-58, I-15, and I-40. By leveraging NEVI grant funding, Nxu aims to significantly reduce project costs, enhancing the feasibility of its charging network expansion plans.

Hanchett elaborates on Nxu’s vision: “We’ve demonstrated that commitment with the California NEVI corridor 7 sites we have under control.”
