The recent expansion at GM’s Global Technical Center includes adding FLO CoRe+ chargers and SmartDC fast chargers, making it the largest workplace deployment of FLO chargers at a single site in North America. Louis Tremblay, President and CEO of FLO, highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership, stating, “GM’s Global Technical Center is at the heart of its engineering and technological innovation, and it only makes sense for FLO to help power its workforce, a fellow innovator in the EV space in Michigan.”

The incorporation of FLO charging stations aligns perfectly with GM’s sustainability efforts, especially with its involvement in DTE’s MIGreenPower program. This program guarantees that the charging units at the Global Technical Center use renewable energy sources, reflecting GM’s dedication to environmental responsibility. Kristen Siemen, GM Vice President of Sustainable Workplaces & Chief Sustainability Officer, praised the initiative, expressing: “Providing additional charging solutions at our facilities that provide energy produced by renewable technology is a win-win that we are very excited about.”

Tony Tomczak, DTE’s Vice President of Electric Sales & Marketing, echoed this sentiment, saying: “GM, FLO, and DTE are on a shared journey to make EVs and EV charging more accessible for our customers.”
