Industry Day Austin 22 | GM Energy

Battery wars: GM starting energy storage subsidiary to take on the Tesla Powerwall

The EV revolution isn’t about a new kind of car, it’s about a new way to look at, understand, and use energy.

The global landscape is changing, and the most successful American car companies of tomorrow will be the ones who understand that the electric vehicle conversation isn’t just about cars and trucks — it’s about energy, and electricity as a fuel.

GM isn’t waiting around for someone else to “figure out” infrastructure, they’ve launched a whole new division called GM Energy that integrates home solar, battery backups, and smart grid technology to help EV buyers maintain a secure source of power for their cars, homes and communities. In a keynote presentation at Electrify Expo Industry Day 2022, Austin, GM head of V2X and Battery Solutions will explore this exciting new business venture, and how skyrocketing EV demand will only serve to support the US energy grid.

HM will be joined by Bosch, Consumer Reports, Polaris, Snow Lake Lithium, and others at Electrify Expo’s second annual electric transportation trade conference. This business-focused event features presentations that range from expert industry analysis, policy experts, networking clinics, and more!
