Electric DeLorean, in More Detail Than Ever

After months of teasing fans with cropped images and sound bites— today, we get our best look yet at the new, electric DeLorean!

When we last spoke with DeLorean CEO Joost de Vries explained that the real story of DeLorean is much bigger than a car that was in a movie, and spoke to a brand with a passionate fanbase that never stopped developing the cars and concepts of the 1980s icon. Joost then promised that, by the end of this year, we’d see not one, but four all-new DeLorean cars!

As if that wasn’t enough of a tease— in a tweet this morning, DeLorean announced that they’d moved up the digital unveiling of the new gullwing sportscar to May 31st, with a special sneak peek a day early for anyone who’d signed up to their newsletter.

The new electric DeLorean will be on display at the Pebble Beach Concours this August, but CEO Joost De Vries himself will be on hand at the Electrify Expo Industry Day in Long Beach, CA on June 3rd, where he’ll be engaging in a fireside chat about the future of the auto industry— in a way that only someone with a time-travelling sportscar can!

You can find out more about the Electrify Expo Industry Day at this link, and let us know what you think of the electric DeLorean brand’s prospects in the comments section at the bottom of the page. Enjoy!
