McLaren Unveils Electric Mountain Bikes with 600W Motors and Carbon Fiber Frames

McLaren Automotive has made a bold move by combining the high-speed legacy of McLaren supercars with the eco-friendly trend of electric mobility. They’ve just revealed their first-ever lineup of electric bikes, and the star of the show is “The Extreme” – a full-suspension electric mountain bike designed for off-road performance, control, and comfort.

Drawing inspiration from McLaren’s iconic supercars like the McLaren P1, the Extreme is a testament to the brand’s relentless pursuit of performance excellence. “We’re thrilled to bring the spirit of McLaren’s supercars to the electric two-wheeled world,” said a representative from McLaren Automotive. “With the Extreme, riders can expect nothing short of an authentically McLaren high-performance experience.”

Designed by the same innovative teams responsible for McLaren’s electrified supercars like the Artura hybrid, these e-bikes blend advanced technology with precise design. Made with carbon fiber, a signature of McLaren’s commitment to lightweight construction, they offer durability without sacrificing performance. Their goal was to create a bike that not only exemplifies McLaren’s performance DNA but also pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in electric biking.

The core of the Extreme 600 is a specially tuned 600W power unit. This establishes a new standard for eMTB power. Pumping out a staggering 161 Nm of torque, this powerhouse ensures an exciting ride like no other. Power is everything and with the Extreme 600 riders can experience white-knuckle performance that surpasses anything in its class.

Equipped with the latest 12-speed SRAM XX Eagle AXS Transmission and RockShox suspension front and rear, the Extreme 600 is built to take on the most punishing terrains with confidence. It’s an eMTB that commands respect, highlighted by its durability and performance.

Pushing the boundaries of innovation even further, the Extreme 600 features an integrated headlight with high and low beams, delivering up to 1550 lumens of illumination. McLaren wanted to ensure that riders can conquer any trail, day or night, underlining their commitment to rider safety and convenience.
