  • Volvo Midsummer: Celebrating local flora, sustainability, and community.
  • Test drive a Volvo, plant a tree: Join the green movement.

Volvo Car Canada is bringing the magic of Midsummer to our very own backyards with the Volvo Midsummer Celebration. This event is all about community, local flora, and creating a greener future. Picture this: vibrant flowers, sustainable practices, and a shared vision for a better world. Volvo Car Canada is channeling its Swedish roots by partnering with the Toronto Flower Market to showcase the beauty of our local flora. From growers and artists to designers, this event will highlight individuals and organizations who are deeply committed to sustainability and community. It’s a true testament to the power of nature and its ability to bring us all together.

Stackt Market – Where Unused Land Transforms into an Artistic Oasis

So, where does all the magic happen? The Volvo Midsummer Celebration will take place at Stackt Market, a fantastic public space dedicated to transforming unused land into vibrant hubs of art and culture. Mark your calendars for July 7-8, 2023, because that’s when the excitement unfolds. You won’t want to miss it!

Test Drive a Volvo and Plant Trees with Every Drive!

Volvo Car Canada wants all of us to be a part of this Midsummer movement. They’re offering a future-forward incentive that will have you revved up with excitement. For every test drive of a Volvo vehicle this summer, Volvo Cars will plant a tree in collaboration with One Tree Planted*. Can you imagine the positive impact we can make together? It’s time to hit the road and contribute to a greener future!

Volvo’s Commitment to a Greener Future

Aleiza Alerta, Director of Marketing & Communications at Volvo Car Canada Ltd., shares the company’s vision: “At Volvo Cars, we are committed to setting the highest standards of sustainability across our business as we work towards becoming climate neutral by 2040. The Volvo Midsummer Celebration brings this commitment to the community, alongside growers, makers, and organizations who share our mission to help drive Canadians towards a greener future.”

Now, let’s dive into what you can expect at this extraordinary event:

Bowery Project Pocket Park: Explore an urban garden created by Bowery Project, a not-for-profit organization. They’re on a mission to promote urban agriculture by making use of vacant lots. The garden’s modular design will thrive at Stackt throughout the growing season, and the harvests will be donated to The Alexandra Park Community Centre meal programs and local community fridges. Talk about making a positive impact!

Open Air Midsummer Gallery: Prepare to be enchanted by stunning floral displays that take over Volvo’s fleet of hybrid and pure electric vehicles. Bloem Flowers, Blush and Bloom, Euclid Farms, and Kenilworth Florals have worked their magic to create botanical installations that will leave you breathless.

Engaging Workshops: Get ready to immerse yourself in a world of flora with a series of informative and inspiring workshops. Learn about pollinator gardens, create your own flower crown, and even build your own bouquet. There’s something for everyone!

Local Vendors: Support local makers by shopping for organic and ethical goods. Indulge in some Midsummer-inspired eats, including the delectable Smørrebrød (also known as “butter bread”). Your taste buds will thank you!

On-Site Test Drives: Buckle up for an exciting adventure! Take a test drive in one of Volvo’s impressive vehicles, such as the XC90, XC60, XC40, S90, S60, or C40. Feel the power and elegance as you cruise around the picturesque Toronto lakeshore. It’s an experience you won’t soon forget.

Leaving a Lasting Green Legacy

Sustainability lies at the heart of Volvo Cars, and their commitment goes beyond the celebration. They’re determined to make a lasting impact:

  • Volvo Cars is installing a permanent EV ChargePoint station at Stackt, making electric vehicle charging more accessible to the community even after the Midsummer Celebration ends.
  • Partnering with ReBloom, Canada’s first floral recycler, Volvo Cars ensures that all flowers from the event find new life. Remaining flowers will be redesigned into beautiful arrangements and donated within the community, with deliveries made in Volvo vehicles.
  • From July 1 to August 31, 2023, Volvo Car Canada Ltd. will plant a tree for every test drive at participating Volvo Cars retailers across the country. This initiative is in partnership with One Tree Planted Canada, a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring forests, preserving biodiversity, and making a positive social impact.
