When you think of Shaquille O’Neal, what comes to mind? Towering basketball legend? Larger-than-life personality? Someone who doesn’t just walk into a room but owns it? At 7 feet 1 inch tall, Shaq’s presence is undeniable, and so are his car troubles.
Squeezing that frame into an average vehicle sounds like a scene from a comedy movie. But Shaq doesn’t just settle for average. Enter the Lucid Air, a luxury electric sedan turned into a custom two-door coupe that’s as unique as the man himself.
This one-of-a-kind EV is no regular Lucid Air. For starters, Lucid Motors only produces the model as a four-door sedan, but Shaq had other ideas. Thanks to the skilled team at West Coast Customs in Burbank, California, the same squad who customized Mark Zuckerberg’s Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT for his family, the Lucid Air was modified into a two-door coupe tailored for an NBA Hall of Famer.
Shaq’s Custom Two-Door Lucid Air
West Coast Customs gave the Lucid Air a complete overhaul. They replaced the standard front doors with larger ones, moved the B-pillar further back, and completely removed the rear doors. The result is a custom build that feels like it could have rolled straight off the production line.
While we haven’t been treated to photos of the interior just yet, we can make some educated guesses. With Shaq’s history of prioritizing comfort (and necessity), it’s safe to assume the front seats are spacious enough for a 7’1” frame to settle in without any awkward maneuvers. As for the back seat, if it still exists, it’s likely not designed for anyone taller than your average 12-year-old.
The exterior features plenty of Shaq’s personal flair. The Lucid badge on the front has been replaced with a custom “Diesel” logo, a nod to one of his well-known nicknames. The 22″ Strada Martello wheels in gloss black feature Superman logos, are wrapped in Lexani tires, adding both style and performance.

Shaq’s Custom Lucid Air Coupe Turns Heads Everywhere
Although the exact model of this Lucid Air hasn’t been confirmed, Shaq’s taste suggests he opted for the Sapphire trim. With 1,234 horsepower, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.89 seconds, which is quicker than most sports cars currently on the road.
For context, the 2024 Lucid Air Sapphire is priced at a cool $249,000. While the standard Lucid Air Pure trim starts at a relatively modest $77,400, Shaq doesn’t do modest. After all, this is a man who owns a few customized Tesla Cybertrucks, two parked in Las Vegas and another ready for action in Atlanta.
Lucid Motors describes the Sapphire as “the pinnacle of electric performance,” highlighting that “every detail is engineered to deliver an unrivaled driving experience.” Shaq’s coupe may have lost two doors, but it’s gained enough personality to turn heads everywhere it goes.

Shaq’s Custom Lucid Air Fits His Style
What can we take away from Shaq’s customized Lucid Air? First, don’t settle for something that doesn’t fit, whether it’s your car, shoes, or lifestyle. Personalizing things to meet your needs can make a huge difference. Second, switching to electric vehicles doesn’t mean giving up luxury or performance. The Lucid Air Sapphire proves you can enjoy thrilling power and sustainable driving in one package.
It would be exciting to see one of Shaq’s custom electric vehicles up close at an event like Electrify Showoff. Known as the ultimate gathering of customized EVs, Electrify Showoff highlights the creativity and individuality of EV enthusiasts.
Shaq’s custom two-door Lucid Air and modified Cybertrucks would make an exciting addition to any event celebrating creativity and innovation.
