Hyundai continues to lead the way with innovative electric vehicles, and the all-electric IONIQ 6 has just won another award. At the Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA) at Elkhart Lake, WI, the all-new IONIQ 6 was named the Favorite Plug-In Vehicle. It took the top prize over 90 other plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and fully-electric plug-in vehicles.

About the Hyundai IONIQ 6

The IONIQ 6 is a new fully-electric sedan in the Hyundai lineup. This four-door sedan sits atop the same platform as the Hyundai IONIQ 5 but has a futuristic design that is rather different from the utilitarian SUV. It features a standard rear-wheel drive single electric motor paired with a 77.4-kWh battery pack. This configuration delivers 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Hyundai also offers the IONIQ 6 with all-wheel drive and a dual-motor system that delivers 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque.

Director of Product Planning for Hyundai Motor North America said, “We appreciate the recognition by MAMA in helping new and current consumers on EV technologies and the Hyundai IONIQ 6 voted as a favorite among competitors.”

Hyundai Motors America is dedicated to delivering smart mobility solutions by offering consumers a lineup of cars, SUVs, trucks, and electric vehicles including fully-electric and plug-in hybrid models. Over 830 dealers in the United States sold more than 724,000 Hyundai vehicles in 2022, and many were built at the company’s manufacturing plant in Alabama.

About the Midwest Automotive Media Association

The MAMA Favorite awards included several vehicle categories including Family Vehicle, Luxury Vehicle, Plug-in, and Off-Roader, among others. The IONIQ 6 garnered plenty of attention from visitors at the MAMA event, as the media was wholly impressed by the sedan’s technology and design features.

The Midwest Automotive Media Association is an organization made up of 240 journalists and industry insiders from Midwestern states and the District of Columbia. The organization has its home in Chicago and shares newsworthy issues and products in the automotive industry.
