Hyundai Motor America announced impressive and exciting news, shattering its own sales records in March and the first quarter of 2024. Hyundai reported impressive sales figures for March 2024 of 76,920 units, a 2% increase compared with March 2023.

March saw unprecedented sales achievements for several of Hyundai’s models. The IONIQ 5 soared with a 58% increase, Tucson PHEV jumped 62%, Tucson HEV climbed 48%, and the Palisade enjoyed a 58% rise in sales.

Hyundai EV Sales Doubled, Eco-Friendly Models Grew 35% in March

In March, the surge in electric vehicle interest was astounding. EV sales doubled, contributing to an overall 35% growth in sales figures of all eco-friendly Hyundai models, reaching 11,485 units.

Fleet sales accounted for 11% of the total sales volume.

Hyundai EV Sales Climbed an Incredible 62% YoY in Q1

The first quarter of the year continued the trend of great success for Hyundai sales figures. Hyundai sold 184,804 units in Q1, for a total sales increase of 0.2% compared with Q1 2023, setting a new Q1 record.

This period set other new records for Hyundai, especially in sales of IONIQ 5, Tucson PHEV, Tucson HEV, Kona EV, and Palisade, with EV sales for the quarter surging 62% compared to the previous year.

Hyundai has earmarked another 31.1 trillion won ($23 billion) specifically for the research and development of electric vehicles within South Korea.
