Hyundai Motor Company cleaned up at this past spring’s iF Design Awards ceremony, taking home 19 accolades. Six of those awards were for marketing projects that highlighted the brand’s innovative work in digital and physical spaces.

IONIQ 6 All-Electric Vehicle Shines Bright

Hyundai Motor’s acclaimed IONIQ 6 all-electric vehicle stole the spotlight, earning a coveted “Gold” award in the Product category. The car’s sleek and sophisticated design impressed the iF Design Award jury, solidifying its own status as a trendsetter in the electric mobility landscape. 

In addition, Hyundai Motor scooped up multiple awards in the Communication and User Experience categories for its marketing efforts centered around promoting the IONIQ 6.

Engaging Narratives and Impactful Videos

The international jury at the iF Design Awards applauded Hyundai’s world premiere video of the IONIQ 6 in the Communication category. The captivating narrative video, titled “Awaken Your World,” showcases the vehicle’s flexible interior and personalized customer experience. By emphasizing the IONIQ 6 as a dedicated eco-friendly electric vehicle, Hyundai aligns with its brand vision of “Progress for Humanity” and strives to enhance the everyday lives of its customers.

Hyundai’s prowess in digital communication was further highlighted by the design unveil video for digital billboards featuring the IONIQ 6’s “Electrified Streamliner” design concept. Displayed at prominent global landmarks like Seoul’s K-POP Square, New York City’s Times Square, and London’s Piccadilly Circus, these eye-catching advertisements encapsulate the essence of Hyundai’s electric vehicle design philosophy.

Immersive Digital Experiences in the Pandemic Era

Even amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic, Hyundai successfully launched the online IONIQ 6 Digital Studio, garnering recognition in both the Communication and UX categories. This digital platform offers customers innovative and immersive experiences through six different themes, tailored to their unique lifestyles. Through augmented reality, virtual reality, wearable tech, and mobile devices, customers can explore the IONIQ 6 and envision how it seamlessly integrates into their work lives and leisure time.

Heartwarming Stories of Smart Mobility

Hyundai’s commitment to smart mobility shines through in the iF Design Award-winning global campaign video for the IONIQ 5 robotaxi. By humanizing autonomous driving technology and showcasing the vision for Level 4 autonomous vehicles, these stories familiarize customers with the future of smart mobility. 

Each episode emphasizes the robotaxi’s meticulous attention to passengers’ needs, ranging from teenagers to the elderly, further solidifying Hyundai’s dedication to providing a caring and considerate transportation experience.

A Celebration of Interior Architecture

Hyundai’s 2022 CES exhibition booth, honored in the Interior Architecture category, showcased the company’s award-winning robotics-based mobility devices. This futuristic booth, consisting of 20 modules, introduced the concept of “metamobility” and highlighted the seamless integration of the real and virtual worlds into a metaverse. The design concept emphasized optimal spaces that adapt to different purposes, showcasing Hyundai’s commitment to creating a comprehensive mobility ecosystem.

This remarkable achievement marks the ninth consecutive year that Hyundai Motor Company has been celebrated at the iF Design Awards. The competition, established by iF International Forum Design GmbH in 1954, is one of the most prestigious international design awards, alongside Germany’s Red Dot Award and the U.S.’s International Design Excellence Award (IDEA). With its diverse range of categories, the iF Design Awards recognize outstanding achievements in design across various disciplines, cementing winners’ positions as design trailblazers.
