Meet Lexie Alford, an adventurer globally known as @LexieLimitless. She’s made history as the first person ever to travel around the world in an electric vehicle. Covering six continents, crossing 27 countries, and spanning over 30,000 kilometers (18,641 miles), her journey was powered solely by the new electric Ford Explorer SUV. Lexie reached the end of her expedition in Nice, France, achieving a feat that’s truly epic.

Reflecting on the journey, Alford shared, “On this epic adventure, I met incredible people from many corners of the world and experienced 27 countries while behind the wheel. But this journey came with a unique set of challenges.” Already known for her world record as the youngest person to visit every country, she embraced this new challenge with enthusiasm and determination.

Featuring an impressive driving range of over 600 kilometers (373 miles) on just one charge and the capability to recharge from 10-80% in approximately 26 minutes with DC charging, this advanced electric SUV highlighted the progress made in electric vehicle (EV) technology.

The journey was also a tribute to Aloha Wanderwell, the first woman to drive around the world 100 years ago, also in a Ford. Lexie Alford’s journey began and ended in Nice, mirroring Wanderwell’s century-old adventure. Alford finished her journey in a convoy of iconic Ford vehicles, cheered on by Ford CEO Jim Farley.
With the success of this expedition, Ford has launched the new Ford Explorer electric SUV across Europe. Designed and developed locally, it’s Ford’s second fully electric passenger vehicle and is the first to roll out from Ford’s Cologne EV Centre following a massive $2 billion investment.
