2026 Solterra Gets More Range and Tesla Supercharger Access

The 2026 Solterra now comes with a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery, providing an estimated range of over 285 miles, which is a 25% improvement over the previous model. This upgrade addresses earlier concerns about the vehicle’s limited range.

Charging has also been improved. With the addition of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, the Solterra can now access Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network. This means faster charging times, with the ability to go from 10% to 80% in less than 35 minutes at speeds up to 150 kW.

Performance Boost with XT Trim

Subaru introduces the new XT trim for the Solterra, featuring dual electric motors that produce a combined 338 horsepower. This kind of power sends the all-electric SUV from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds, making it one of the fastest in Subaru’s lineup.

On the outside, the 2026 Solterra gets a fresh look with redesigned headlights, a new front bumper, and a glowing Subaru logo that lights up the grille. Inside, a wide 14-inch touchscreen sits front and center, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Wireless phone chargers are built into the front console for both driver and passenger, while high-powered USB-C ports in the rear keep devices juiced up. Clean, functional, and ready to work with whatever you plug in.

Subaru’s focus on safety hasn’t gone anywhere. The 2026 Solterra comes packed with the EyeSight driver-assist suite, which includes Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure Alert, and Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control. These tools help take some of the stress out of daily driving.

For off-road enthusiasts, the Solterra maintains 8.3 inches of ground clearance and includes Subaru’s X-MODE Dual-Mode System, giving you better grip when conditions turn slippery or unpredictable.

This version of the Solterra also tackles earlier complaints. It now delivers more driving range, faster charging times, better performance, and tech that actually feels current. Altogether it’s a far more compelling pick for anyone eyeing an all-electric SUV.
