Faraday Future FF 91 (Finally) Gets EPA Rating Of 381 Miles

Faraday Future made bold promises about its debut FF 91 EV – and true to their word, the FF91 has nailed an EPA rating of 381 miles.

That is actually 3 miles more than Faraday had said it was aiming for – though the road here was not easy. Indeed, Faraday Future has faced plenty of obstacles on its journey, including financial troubles, the bankruptcy of its original founder, and a whole host of other issues. This has led the delivery of the FF 91 to be pushed back multiple times, having first been slated to hit roads in 2018. With this final EPA rating however, the FF 91 is one step closer to actual production.

The 381-mile range tops the FF 91’s main competitor, the Tesla Model X, which tops out at “only” 348 miles. The 142 kWh battery pack is slightly bigger than what was initially expected, but the EPA rating only applies to the top-of-the-line Futurist model, which will set you back about $200,000 – about $50,000 more than a fully-loaded Model X.

Powered by three electric motors and making 1,050 horsepower, the FF 91 can sprint from 0 – 60 MPH in just 2.4 seconds, and boasts an interior that is the very definition of futuristic. However, the company still needs further investment to actually begin production at their California factory, and this EPA rating is only good until January 1st, 2024 – after which it will need to be re-certified.

Though their journey has not been short or easy, Faraday Future has come further than most – and we hope to see the FF 91 on the road sooner than later.
