DSV Orders 300 Electric Trucks from Volvo

Seeing a heavy truck speeding down the highway often brings to mind diesel fumes and carbon emissions. However, that image is starting to change. DSV has placed an order for 300 electric trucks from Volvo, rewriting the story of logistics in Europe.

Volvo’s new FH Aero Electric truck is designed for better energy efficiency with its improved aerodynamics. This truck is a direct answer to the increasing demand for heavy vehicles that are more efficient—using less energy, producing fewer emissions, and having a smaller environmental footprint.

As Volvo Trucks President Roger Alm pointed out, “Collaboration and a strong commitment to really make a difference is essential for making sustainable transport and big CO2 reductions a reality.”

DSV Sets Sights on 2,000 Electric Trucks by 2030 in Green Logistics Push

DSV is just getting started with its 300-truck order. The company has a bigger goal in mind: to roll out 2,000 electric trucks by 2030. It’s an ambitious step, but it fits perfectly with DSV’s vision in green logistics.

As Søren Schmidt, CEO of DSV Road, notes, “As a global leader in logistics, we must try to stay at the forefront of the green transition, and this agreement is a fantastic example of how new technologies can be brought to market at scale to make them more accessible for our customers.”

This collaboration also highlights the importance of cross-sector partnerships in battling climate change. By working together, DSV and Volvo Trucks will reduce emissions and lead by example for the rest of the industry.

Volvo FH Aero Electric Truck: Maximum Efficiency and Everyday Reliability

The Volvo FH Aero Electric truck is built for maximum efficiency, with a streamlined design that cuts down on air resistance. Paired with Volvo’s advanced electric driveline technology, this makes the FH Aero Electric one of the most efficient electric heavy trucks on the market.

But efficiency isn’t the only thing Volvo has focused on. These trucks are built for everyday use, offering the range needed for long-haul trips and the strength to handle heavy loads. Since 2019, Volvo has delivered over 3,800 electric trucks across 46 countries, racking up more than 90 million kilometers (56 million miles). This impressive record proves just how reliable and capable Volvo’s electric trucks are in real-world conditions.

DSV and Volvo Lead with Electric Trucks Fleet and Solar Charging for Sustainable Logistics

DSV and Volvo Trucks are both committed to the Science-Based Targets initiative, working in line with the Paris Agreement’s goals. DSV’s fleet, featuring electric trucks from Volvo in Sweden and Denmark, shows what’s possible when sustainability is a priority.

DSV has also set up solar-powered charging stations at its distribution centers to support its expanding fleet of electric trucks. By focusing on both the vehicles and the energy that powers them, DSV shows a strong commitment to reducing the environmental impact of logistics.
