Specialized Turbo Tero X Tears Up the Rulebook

Turbo Tero X

The new Specialized Turbo Tero is ready to tear up the trails with more than 60 lb-ft of tire-twisting electric torque!

Specialized has introduced a new electric bike to their Turbo lineup, called the Turbo Tero X. This bike is designed for the adventurer who wants to take on steep climbs – or who wants to feel like a total boss while city commuting. With a full suspension system and fenders coming standard, the Tero X can handle rough terrain and keep you from looking like you trekked through a bog if it’s a rainy day.

The Full Power 2.2 motor quadruples the rider’s power output and provides up to six hours of assisted ride time. The bike also has a swappable battery and a Turbo System Lock that disables the motor and activates an alarm.

The aluminum frame of the Turbo Tero X is built for a comfortable, upright riding position and has 130 mm of front and 120 mm of rear suspension. The single-pivot rear suspension system helps to reduce fatigue and complexity while carrying a load. The bike also comes with a dropper post and Specialized’s Ground Control tires. All three Tero X models come with a Mullet wheel setup that features a 29″ front wheel and a 27.5″ rear wheel, providing optimal ride control.

The Tero X is equipped with a 1,000 lumen headlight and a speed-sensitive rear light that increases from 11 to 22 lumens when it detects deceleration. Full coverage front and rear DryTech fenders keep dirt and mud off the rider’s clothes, and the integrated rear rack system can hold up to 44 lbs. There is also an available front rack that can hold an additional 22 lbs. For riders who need more storage, Specialized offers performance-minded baskets and panniers that work with the Tero X’s rear rack.

Basically, the Specialized Turbo Tero X is pretty, rugged, and versatile.

It has three editions that each come with different motors and accessories: The Turbo Tero X 4.0 retails for $4,500, the Turbo Tero X 5.0 costs $5,500, and the Turbo Tero X 6.0 is priced at $6,500.
