Simple, retro-futuristic concept art is really hot right now, including this Honda concept from artist Michio Papers.
Papers took inspiration from the classic Honda Dax, with its classic T-frame design and straightforward approach. While the Dax has been modernized by Honda recently with the ST125 Dax, Papers takes it a step further by imagining it as an electric moto.
Papers took the original inspiration and thoroughly updated the design language and feature set, with a belt-driven electric powertrain as well as a new frame and suspension geometry. But it still maintains the compact wheelbase and uncomplicated vibes of the Dax.
Neat touches include the space within the body frame where the fuel tank would normally go in a gas-powered moto that now you can slot your cell phone into. Could it perhaps be a spot for wireless charging? That’d be extra-spiffy. And there’s the cargo space under the seat, too.
Between the octagonal swappable batteries and the circular rear light, this concept art plays around with literal geometry while looking like something that could really become street-ready one day.
