The all-new, all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning finally gets real as Ford begins customer deliveries of its hottest pickup truck.
Lightning pickups started rolling off the assembly line last month, and now– it’s finally happening.
The first retail Lightning customer announced that they’d taken delivery of their on the F-150 Lightning Forum. The truck (below) is a top-shelf Platinum Trim silver Lightning that was reserved on May 20, 2021– almost as soon as reservations opened– and transferred into order on January 7, 2022. The historic truck was built on April 18, 2022, and finally delivered yesterday, May 26, 2022.
Right on time, in other words– which must come as a welcome change in an industry where hot new EVs are announced to great fanfare then delayed again and again.

As great as this news is, there’s even more good news for Ford fans. It seems like Nick’s dealer did the right thing, and resisted the urge to tack on any additional “market adjusted pricing” nonsense. “I wanted to mention that my dealership carried the exact quoted price, and there is no dealer fee on top of what my build plus taxes already included,” he wrote on his post announcing the delivery. “Granted, it’s a tiny town and Richardson Ford is known to take care of folks, but given the posts of others, I wanted to mention they were doing the right thing.”
You can see a few more pictures of Nick’s truck, below, then let us know when you expect to get your electric f-series delivered in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
