Portable Electric and Volvo CE Partner for Construction Site Charging

Portable Electric Voltstack 30k
  • Voltstack has partnered with Volvo Construction Equipment to be able to bundle together Volvo machines with a mobile EV charger.
  • With mobile chargers like the Voltstack 30k Level 2 Mobile EV Charger, major construction equipment can still receive power without necessarily relying on diesel-powered generators.
  • These construction-focused chargers also offer a silent, emission-free power source for job sites.

While construction machines are starting to go electric, you still have the issue of being able to charge them back up. If you’re on a construction site that doesn’t have access to grid power, what do you do? Portable Electric and Volvo Construction Equipment are working to fix that issue with Portable Electric’s Voltstack mobile power stations.

How Voltstack Mobile Chargers Can Change the Construction Segment

The Voltstack 30k Level 2 Mobile EV Charger from Portable Electric is a battery energy storage system that is versatile enough to meet the needs of various machines. It has 30 kW of power output and 80 kWh of battery capacity, so whether it’s boost charging, setting up temporary charging stations, or providing on-demand recharging services, the Voltstack 30k has got it covered.

This charger plays a crucial role in recharging Volvo’s electric construction equipment, including the ECR25 excavator and the L20 and L25 wheel loaders. But that’s not all – the Voltstack 30k doesn’t just charge vehicles; it also provides a silent, emission-free power source for job sites. And if the battery runs low, it can even engage a diesel generator through its “Smart Hybrid” feature to keep the power flowing.

The Voltstack itself is portable, meaning it can be transported to and from the job site and recharged from the power grid outside of work hours.

And thanks to this official partnership, Volvo CE’s 245 North American dealer locations will now offer customers the chance to bundle the Voltstack 30k Level 2 e-Charger with the purchase of Volvo electric construction equipment.

An Exciting Partnership

Ray Gallant, VP Sustainability & Productivity Services at Volvo CE, expressed his delight at the partnership, stating, “We are pleased to partner with Portable Electric to offer our customers an efficient, sustainable, and off-grid mobile charging solution for their Volvo electric equipment. Bundling charging infrastructure like the Voltstack 30k Level 2 e-Charger … supports customers in reducing the carbon footprint of construction sites and improving the overall environmental impact of their projects.”

Scott Hardy, CEO of Portable Electric, also shared his excitement, emphasizing the benefits of the Voltstack 30k Level 2 e-Charger for construction sites. He said, “With its silent operation and emission-free power source, the Voltstack 30k Level 2 e-Charger is an ideal mobile charging solution for construction sites where noise, air pollution, and recharge times are a concern.”
