The FM Harbor facility, scheduled to be complete by the end of 2024, is a major move forward in California’s push for zero-emissions transportation. Situated strategically in the Port of Long Beach, this modern depot is about to transform heavy-duty trucking. It will provide fast charging stations for more than 200 electric drayage trucks every day.

Matt LeDucq, CEO and co-founder of Forum Mobility, believes that the FM Harbor depot integrates the company’s dedication to making it easy for heavy-duty truck fleets to switch from diesel to electricity. LeDucq stresses, “With the support of the Port of Long Beach, the FM Harbor depot will provide drayage truckers a turn-key solution for zero-emission freight.”

One of the distinguishing features of Forum Mobility’s approach is its provision of dedicated infrastructure tailored specifically for heavy-duty trucks. Understanding that transitioning can be costly, Forum Mobility provides creative subscription plans covering both charging services and trucks. This means fleet operators don’t have to worry about making a big upfront investment.

Emmanuel Carrillo, Chief Executive Officer of Talon Logistics, highlights the convenience and strategic advantage of FM Harbor, stating, “Securing fully-staffed and dedicated charging inside the port makes us pioneers in the space, which puts us ahead of the competition.” Carrillo further highlights the accessibility of the facility, situated amidst the high-traffic terminals of the Port of Long Beach, which sees a staggering 7,000 trucks entering daily.

Danya Hakeem, Vice President of Portfolio at Elemental, expresses pride in supporting projects like FM Harbor, which contribute to a healthier, cleaner, and more affordable future.

Projects like FM Harbor are more than just building infrastructure – they’re real progress towards California’s goal of zero-emission transportation. With a target of a fully electric drayage fleet by 2035, there’s a pressing need to expand charging infrastructure for heavy-duty trucks.
