The Electrify Showoff Driven by Yokohama Tires in Denver, held on July 13-14 at the Stockyards, also known as “The Yards,” was a major event for EV enthusiasts. As part of Electrify Expo, North America’s largest EV festival, the show featured nearly two dozen of the coolest and most unique EV conversions.
Eric Dotson’s 1991 Nissan Skyline GTR won Best of Showoff. Vendors like Yokohama Tires, Legacy EV, Tint World, JackRabbit, Super73, EV Battery Shield, Hyfan, and Lunar Plus showcased their latest products, giving attendees a look at the future of custom car modifications.
Neil Tjin, the Director of Electrify Showoff, summed it up best: “The EV conversions were the big highlight, best and most variety of conversions ever in showoff.”

Showcasing the Best in EV Modifications and Conversions
The heart and soul of Electrify Showoff in Denver was the amazing EV conversions. These vehicles are masterpieces of custom modification, representing the best of aftermarket parts and innovative engineering.
The Best of Showoff winner, Eric Dotson, brought out his 1991 Nissan Skyline GTR from Rio Rancho, New Mexico, featuring a dual motor swap from a Tesla P90D, a full P90 battery pack in custom battery boxes, a JUN body kit, Volk Racing TE37 wheels, Recaro seats, and a custom 90s JDM confetti interior.
The Nissan Skyline GTR R32 with EV conversion was a work of art, a blend of past and future, and something I would love to see at SEMA as a featured vehicle.

Other standout builds included Brett Cohen’s 2018 Tesla Model 3, which won both Best Frunk and Best Audio, featuring air suspension, a custom interior, and a custom car audio system.
Kevin Emr’s 1965 Shelby E-Cobra was recognized for Best Performance and Best Wheel/Tire Package; built by E-Muscle Cars in Denton, TX, it was powered by a Tesla Performance Large Drive unit, LG Chem batteries, AEM-EV controls, Speedhut gauges, adjustable suspension, Wilwood brakes, custom forged wheels, and 335mm tires.

Carter Chandler’s 1982 Jeep CJ8 Scrambler dominated the Best Paint, Best Truck, and Best EV Conversion categories, featuring an ElectricGT 413 crate EV drivetrain, electric power steering and brakes, Speedhut EV gauges, and a Tremec TR4050 5-speed transmission.
The award for Best Crew went to La Vida Volta!, led by Terry Breheny. Their 1961 Chevy Corvair Lakewood 700 Wagon, with an EV conversion featuring a Maverick25 400v motor powered by an Atom Drive System, showcased their teamwork and technical skills.
