  • DESTEN and InMotion have collaborated to develop an ultra-fast charging battery pack for an electric racecar that can fully charge in under 4 minutes, setting a new world record for EV charging speed.
  • The battery pack combines DESTEN’s advanced cell technology with InMotion’s sophisticated pack and cooling system.
  • InMotion’s Revolution car, equipped with this technology, aims to showcase the potential of electric refueling at events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

DESTEN, which makes advanced lithium-ion battery technology, partnered with race track EV pioneer InMotion to launch a game-changing battery pack that could shake up electric driving, at least on the track. This new ultra-fast charging battery pack is capable of charging in just 3 minutes and 56 seconds.

Breaking Records: The Under 4-Minute Marvel

Clocking in at a staggering 3 minutes and 56 seconds for a full charge, this battery pack is setting a new world record and is rewriting the rulebook on EV charging times.

Imagine plugging in your EV and, in less time than it takes to brew a cup of coffee, having it charged and ready to go. Thanks to this new ultra-fast charging battery pack, it could become a reality in the future, maybe even beyond just the racing scene.

At the heart of this groundbreaking battery pack is DESTEN’s cutting-edge cell technology, the driving force behind its unparalleled charging speed. Meanwhile, InMotion has stepped up to the plate with a sophisticated pack and cooling system that seamlessly complements DESTEN’s innovative cells.

The result? A powerhouse of a battery pack that not only charges in record time but also delivers exceptional on-track performance.

DESTEN had already teased a prototype of the battery pack back in 2021, boasting that its ultra-fast charging battery pack could charge from 0-100% in 4 minutes and 40 seconds. Obviously, since then, the DESTEN and InMotion teams have been working to make the battery pack even more efficient when it comes to charging.

Winning Awards and Dreaming of Le Mans

The car that has shown off this technology is InMotion’s Revolution car, which is in the LMP3 prototype class for the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team at InMotion has been wanting to bring “electric refueling” to Le Mans, and they’re hoping to bring their tech to the circuit to show off the possibilities of electric refueling by competing in the race one day.

Meanwhile, DESTEN recently clinched the Gold Medal in the 2023 Edison Awards‘ competitive EV Battery Enhancement Category, a testament to the potentially transformative impact of its Ultra-Fast Charging Cell technology.
