Lucid Gravity Electric SUV Rolls Out But Only for Insiders

Lucid recently began delivering the first Gravity SUVs, not to customers just yet, but to employees, friends, and family. Chief Executive Peter Rawlinson shared on LinkedIn, “This past weekend we handed keys to the first production Lucid Gravity SUVs off the line to some of our employees, friends, and families.”

Delivering the first Lucid Gravity SUVs to employees, friends, and family before offering them to customers in 2025 shows the company’s confidence in its product and commitment to thorough testing.

But why the wait for the rest of us? It’s a calculated effort to ensure quality. Rawlinson explained, “We are ramping Lucid Gravity production volume in a structured manner to ensure high quality for our customers.” In other words, they’re taking their time to get it right.

Pre-production of the Gravity SUV began back in July at Lucid’s Casa Grande, Arizona, factory. Rawlinson even had the honor of driving the first pre-production unit off the line, a moment he described with palpable pride. The Gravity is offered in several trims, with the Gravity Grand Touring priced at $94,900 and production set for late 2024. The more affordable Gravity Touring, starting at $79,900, is scheduled for late 2025.

That $80,000 figure doesn’t include taxes, fees, or add-ons. Lucid has been transparent about this, noting that the pricing applies exclusively to the U.S. market and is subject to change.

For those itching to see the Gravity in action, Lucid plans to roll out display models to showrooms soon, followed by test-drive units. Rawlinson hinted at an exciting 2025, saying, “This is just the beginning. Here’s to a remarkable 2025!”
