California E-bike maker SUPER73 is a huge favorite throughout the industry — and it’s racking up design awards, too!
American e-bike manufacturer SUPER73 made waves back in March when it unveiled its new C1X concept, a lightweight electric motorcycle — and it seems we weren’t the only ones taken by its stunning design! The C1X has earned a Notable title in the Transportation Award category during the Core77 Design Awards for 2022, and flat-out won the Community Choice Prize!
SUPER73 C1X Was Made for California
Praised for “bridging the gap between urban exploration and highway connectivity,” the C1X aims to offer motorcycle performance with drastically reduced bulk and weight. It has a top speed of 75 mph and a 100-mile range on a single charge. And, with Level 2 charging, it can charge from 0-80% in less than one hour.
SUPER73’s priority for the concept was to pare down the overall footprint of a standard motorcycle and get it closer to a larger e-bike, like the company’s Indian-branded eFTR Hooligan. To accomplish this, the designers switched to 15-inch wheels instead of the typical 17-inch motorcycle wheels, lowered the seat height to 31 inches, and reduced the wheelbase to only 51 inches.
Folks who are interested in eventually getting one of their own can make a fully refundable $73 (Classic. —Ed.) deposit through the SUPER73 website. We still don’t have an official release date, but we do know that it will only be available in the continental US at launch.
If you can’t wait for more great C1X content, though — we gotchu! You can re-watch the official C1X launch, from SUPER73’s launch day vlog, below, then let us know what you think of the brand’s Grom-killing electric motorcycle in the comments.
