An recreational vehicle (RV) that makes towing feel… actually enjoyable? Hold that thought, because Lightship, America’s first all-electric RV manufacturer, has pulled it off with the AE.1 Cosmos Edition.

Most people picture towing a trailer or RV as a slow, noisy grind, but this one flips the script. It’s nearly silent, smarter than your car, and cleaner than a freshly polished marble floor in a high-end gallery.

Demand for the Cosmos Edition climbed fast. Lightship confirms the model is sold out, now in production, with deliveries planned by late summer 2025.

What makes this electric trailer stand out is TrekDrive™, a smart towing system that communicates directly with the trailer’s motor and sensors in real time. It monitors acceleration, braking, and even cornering, then instantly adjusts power to lighten the workload on the tow vehicle.

According to the company, this can double the range of an electric vehicle or improve fuel efficiency in a gas-powered one. That means an RV trip can cover more miles without compromising comfort or capability.

Lightship has expanded the AE.1 lineup with two trims, the Atmos and the Panos. The Atmos comes equipped with a 77 kWh battery, 1.8 kW solar roof panels, and options such as a motorized awning or a third bed.

Pricing starts at $184,000, with deliveries expected in spring 2026. The Panos offers a 44 kWh battery and 840 W of solar capacity, along with the same optional features, starting at $151,000, with customer deliveries planned for late 2026.

Ben Parker, Lightship’s Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, states, “We’ve engineered these models to meet adventurers where they are. Whether you’re planning extended off-grid expeditions or weekend getaways, there’s now an AE.1 designed specifically for your style of exploration.”

That’s clean energy with a wink of personalization, built into an electric trailer that functions as both a home and a travel companion.

The Atmos includes a full kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave, all neatly integrated. It also features a complete rear bathroom and an automotive-grade HVAC system, giving it the feel of a compact luxury suite without the airport security lines.

The appeal goes well past the premium features, extending into a carefully planned layout. Both the Atmos and Panos carry the NASA-inspired design of the Cosmos, using what Lightship calls “Aero-Electric” architecture for low drag on the road and generous headroom once parked.

Large panoramic windows, a pop-up roofline, and spacious interiors filled with practical details make each recreational vehicle feel open and welcoming. This design approach allows Lightship’s RV lineup to combine comfort, efficiency, and performance in an electric trailer that works for both long trips and quick weekend getaways.
