This year, The VW Golf is celebrating its 50th birthday. The new VW Golf features a next-generation infotainment system and efficient drive systems. The redesigned, iconic vehicle features a sharper front and rear end design and a more intuitive operating concept. A plug-in hybrid drive is available with an increased all-electric range of about 100 kilometers.
An illuminated VW logo adorns the front for the first time on a Golf. The new VW Golf and new Golf Variant feature IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights that incorporate a new high-performance main beam with an impressive range of up to 500 m.
Another new feature is the new IDA voice assistant. IDA integrates the artificial intelligence-based chatbot ChatGPT. This year, the IDA was showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The IDA can answer questions ranging from weather forecasts to general knowledge questions and much more. It can also control air conditioning, telephone, or navigation systems.
The enhanced Park Assist Plus function makes parking easier. When the vehicle drives past the space (parallel or bay), it can detect whether it is large enough. It then takes over the steering, acceleration, and braking to park the vehicle. The driver must only monitor the parking process.
The VW Golf offers new plug-in hybrid drives, which feature increased power and an electric range of about 100 km. The innovative vehicle is additionally equipped with a DC quick-charging function. For drivers without home charging, the highly efficient 48 V mild hybrid drives are particularly appealing.
Nine different options, including mild hybrid (eTSI), plug-in hybrid (eHybrid and GTE), turbocharged petrol (TSI), and turbocharged diesel (TDI), will be available in the launch phase. The Golf GTI offers an even sportier design, with added power compared to its predecessor. More exciting Golf derivatives will be introduced throughout 2024.
