  • The 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid will be available on dealership lots in winter 2023.
  • Toyota is offering all Corolla Cross models with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of driver-assistant features.
  • The Nightshade Edition includes 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, blacked-out exterior badging, and black upholstery with red trim.
  • The Corolla Cross gets a manufacturer-estimated combined fuel rating of 42 MPG thanks to the Fifth Generation Toyota Hybrid System.

The sporty and fuel-efficient 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid will be available in the Nightshade Special Edition. This well-equipped trim will have unique styling features but will be outfitted like the SE trim. It features 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, black exterior trim around the headlights and tail lights, and black interior trim accented with red.

The Corolla Cross Hybrid Nightshade will be available in three color choices: Jet Black, Barcelona Red with a Jet Black roof, and Celestite Gray with a Jet Black roof. The Nightshade trim adds blacked-out Toyota badging, black door handles and mirror caps, and a rear spoiler.

The 2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid will also be available in the S, SE, and XSE trim levels. Toyota also offers the Corolla Cross with a traditional internal combustion engine. The Fifth Generation Toyota Hybrid System includes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with three electric motors, standard all-wheel drive, and a continuously variable automatic transmission. The configuration delivers 196 horsepower.

The mild-hybrid-electric powertrain in the Toyota SUV gets a manufacturer-estimated fuel rating of 45 MPG in the city and 38 MPG on the highway. The Corolla Cross with an ICE gets a manufacturer-estimated combined fuel rating of 30 MPG.

While the Corolla Cross Hybrid isn’t a Jeep Wrangler, it does have some off-road and towing capability. All Corolla Cross models can tow up to 1,500 pounds when properly equipped, and the SUV’s 8-inch ground clearance and standard all-wheel drive make it comfortable on dirt roads and easy trails.

What’s In the Corolla Cross Hybrid

The three trims are all well-equipped, and the Hybrid models have unique exterior styling that differentiates the fuel-efficient models from the ICE models. The S and SE models have 17-inch alloy wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, LED exterior lighting, a smart key, and an 8-inch touchscreen. Drivers who choose the top XSE trim will get 18-inch wheels, and they can add two-toned paint.

The SE and Nightshade Edition get steering wheel paddle shifters, privacy glass, Blind-Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. These trims also get fabric-trimmed seats in black and gray or black and blue.

Toyota includes the Toyota Audio Multimedia system with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, several USB-C ports, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and HD Radio. The automaker offers available 4G Wi-Fi Connect, Apple Music, Amazon Music, “Hey Toyota” Intelligent Assistant, Cloud Navigation, and Destination Assist – all with voice activation controls. Toyota also sends updates over the air so owners no longer need to visit the dealership for infotainment upgrades.

Safety Features in the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid

Along with impressive infotainment and comfort features, the automaker adds the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system to all Corolla Cross models. The suite includes the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection and a variety of other cameras and sensors to help with Lane Departure Alert and Lane Tracing Assist.

The Corolla Cross will also come with Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Lane Tracing Assist for help on busy highways. The SUV has Automatic High Beams, Road Assist, a Multi-Information Display, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Hill Start Assist Control.
