The 2024 Lexus RX isn’t just another pretty face in the luxury SUV world. It’s revamped, refined, and ready to redefine your drive. Here’s what’s new.

450h+ Plugin Hybrid

To round out the RX line-up, there’s a new plug-in hybrid model available for 2024. It comes packed with power, thanks to a beefy lithium-ion battery paired with a nifty 2.5-liter inline-four engine – the same engine you’ll find in NX models. With a combined 83 MPGe (according to Lexus), this beauty promises luxury performance – think zero to 60 in a breezy 6.2 seconds. If you want to cruise on all-electric power, this model will do an EPA-estimated 35 miles when fully charged.

New color options

2024 sees the introduction of two new colors: Cloudburst Gray and Copper Crest. The latter is exclusively for Premium and F SPORT Handling grades. So, if you ever thought the Lexus RX couldn’t look any cooler, think again.

The GA-K Platform

The GA-K platform is lighter than its predecessor, meaning improved performance. Stronger metals, strategic welds, and innovative adhesives work in harmony, providing improved rigidity and a lower center of gravity. With dimensions pointing towards both roominess and sportiness, expect both luxury and a sprightly feel.

Range of powertrains

While we’re most excited about the new-for-2024 RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid, there’s still a range of other powertrains available for the 2024 model. Look out for the RX 350h if you’re looking for a standard hybrid. If it’s power you’re after, the top-end RX500h F Sport Performance is also a hybrid. The 2.4-liter turbocharged engine and electric motor combine for 366 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque.

Bold design

Lexus isn’t skimping on the style. The 2024 RX showcases an athletic spindle body, a variety of wheel choices, and aerodynamic tweaks ensuring it’s not just about looks but performance too. And with 10 exterior colors to choose from, every RX can reflect its driver’s personality.

Luxury interiors

The RX’s interiors are nothing short of plush. A driver-centric cockpit, multiple storage options, ergonomic seating, and USB ports scattered around ensure comfort meets convenience. The lighting inside, adjustable to 64 colors, promises an ambiance for every mood. If you’re after the plug-in hybrid, you’ll be pleased to know that RX 450h+ comes standard with the luxury grade features of the 2023 RX models.

Technology and convenience

While a variety of technology features are available across the RX lineup, the 450h+ comes with plenty of standard creature comforts. You get a 14-inch touchscreen, a head-up display, proactive driving assist, and adaptive cruise control. If you need more, look out for available features such as Cloud Navigation and Intelligent Assist (with subscription), a premium Mark Levinson® sound system, and Advanced Park with Remote park — to make those tricky maneuvers a breeze.

Pricing and availability

Starting at an MSRP of $49,950, 2024 RX models will be on roads by the end of 2023. The 2024 Lexus RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid will start from $70,080.

In all, the 2024 Lexus RX promises a blend of luxury, power, and technology. It’s not just about getting from point A to B, but how you feel during the journey. And with Lexus, that journey just got a whole lot more exciting.
