Acura is readying itself for its first foray into electric vehicles, and the brand is ready to hit the road in style with the 2024 Acura ZDX in the Canadian market. This sporty electric SUV promises a seamless on-the-go experience with its integrated Google technology and its focus on a connected, personalized, and streamlined driving experience.
Google Integration in the 2024 Acura ZDX
The ZDX will come equipped with Google built-in technology, offering Canadian Acura customers an enhanced ownership experience.
One standout feature of the ZDX is an enhanced version of Google Maps specifically tailored for EV customers. This optimized route-planning system helps drivers find charging stations along their journey, making longer-distance travel that much smoother. Google Maps can even estimate the charging time required to reach the destination and initiate battery preconditioning when a DC fast charging station is the intended stop. With this technology, Acura drivers can reduce charge times and get back on the road even quicker.
Thanks to Google Assistant, ZDX users can accomplish tasks while keeping their focus on the road and their hands on the wheel. Making calls, sending texts, adjusting temperature settings, and navigating to their next destination can all be done effortlessly using voice commands. The destination can be set directly in Google Maps, with the route map displayed on the instrument cluster for easy reference.
Media control is a breeze with Google Assistant as well. Drivers can ask the assistant to skip to the next track or rewind a podcast, using their favorite media apps. Additionally, users can download various third-party apps for music, podcasts, and audiobooks through Google Play, just like they would on their smartphones.
The ZDX’s high-tech cabin doesn’t stop at Google integration. Acura has incorporated several other intuitive technologies as standard equipment. A digital driver instrumentation display, a large center touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and Acura’s first pocket type wireless smartphone charger all enhance the futuristic driving experience.
“Offering Canadian Acura customers available Google Built-in technology in our first fully electrified vehicle will enhance their premium ownership experience,” says James Marchand, Assistant Vice President, Acura Canada. “The ZDX and ZDX Type S are just the first steps in our rapid journey toward a digital and electrified future, Google Built-in applications, integrated features and services are class-leading connectivity solutions that will be a part of the future of our brand and products.”

More About the 2024 Acura ZDX
Acura’s commitment to performance in the electrified era is evident with the ZDX. The SUV showcases the brand’s new design direction introduced during Monterey Car Week last year in the form of the Acura Precision EV Concept. Developed in collaboration with GM, using the flexible global EV platform powered by Ultium batteries, the ZDX is just the beginning. Acura plans to launch more electric models based on their own global e:Architecture, starting in 2026.
The name “ZDX” pays homage to a previous Acura model that once held the same name. It was the first vehicle to be styled from the ground up in the Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles. Now, the new ZDX is being styled in that same Acura Design Studio, evolving the name and the brand with a new approach. It will also launch a ZDX Type S performance variant.
“Our accelerated path towards electrification begins today with the all-new ZDX, the Acura brand will play a key role in our overall corporate strategy to achieve 100-percent carbon neutrality by 2050 with more fully electric Acura models being introduced in the years to come,” said Marchand. “Precision Crafted Performance will remain at the heart of everything Acura does as, even in this new electrified era, we remain focused on performance with Type S at the forefront.”
