Toyota’s Corolla C-HR never set the sales world on fire – but a new, PHEV version may just be the sporty success Akio is looking for!
The Toyota C-HR has always been a fun, sporty thing – a coupe high-rider with a daring shape and aesthetics. A fun fact about it is that, apparently, it was originally going to be sold as a Scion before that marque was discontinued. Maybe it’s not what you think of when it comes to a typical Toyota, but that means the brand can get more experimental with how it approaches the next generation.
The Prologue concept for the C-HR maintains that funky styling of the first generation but has added some new pizazz with details like a Hammerhead front fascia, slim headlights, and small grill apertures. We don’t have too many more details beyond Toyota saying that the overhangs are shorter but more practical on the inside, which most likely means a longer wheelbase than the previous generation.
And, of course, there’s the promise that this will have a plug-in hybrid version, meaning you could be the envy of everyone while you’re on your city commute.
