- It took three years of planning and a four and a half week build.
- It’s debuting at SEMA and will be at Electrify Showoff in Austin from November 10-12.
Remember when “Mustang” made you think of roaring engines and racetracks? Well, it’s time to reimagine that. Picture this: cruising off-road, surrounded by nature’s best, all while in a Mustang. And no, it’s not your traditional, gas-guzzling horse. It’s the all-electric, one-off concept, the Mustang Mach-E Safari by Tjin Edition. A vehicle designed to “stretch imaginations” and bring to light the future of electric off-road adventures.
Tjin Edition 3-Year Dream Turned Four-Week Marvel
Neil Tjin, Director of Electrify Showoff, exclaimed about this exciting project, “this has been three years in the making and we were super stoked.” Three years and a whirlwind build of just four and a half weeks!
If you think this timeframe is “almost impossible”, you’re not alone. But with a stellar team, including some of the best fabricators from across the US and iconic community partners, they’ve achieved the unimaginable. This isn’t just any Mach-E, it’s 14 inches wider than stock and comes with hand crafted, full metal wide body fender flares. Neil, in his enthusiasm, emphasized the sheer breadth of features: “This build has it all, including a Falken tires and Black Rhino wheels, an ARB jack and recovery boards, a Thule bike rack, linked up with a custom Super73 e-bike, RPG Offroad custom suspension, custom Recaro seats, a Warn winch in the frunk…” and the list goes on.

The Fusion of Artistry, Craftsmanship, and Rugged Elegance
Now, let’s talk about aesthetics. It’s not just about what’s under the hood (or, in this case, underneath the front of an EV). The exterior features of a custom hand fabricated wide body, hinting at the strength and durability this ride offers. Neil flew in metal experts from 66CustomsNJ and TankBilt, and these guys didn’t sleep for close to two weeks. Neil knew that the metal flares were going to be the crème de la crème that was going to set his Mach-E apart. Once the metal flares were completed (in a very short time frame), the car was rushed over to Daley Visual to get wrapped in KPMF Stealth Tundra material, which really changed the look and feel of the Mustang. Add to that the custom hood pod, front valance and plethora of Rigid Industry lights, custom Rally Armor mud guards, and this Mustang is not just ready to handle the rugged terrains, but look damn good doing it.
The Tjin Edition Safari Mach-E Breakdown
Inside, it’s still all about functionality and style. Neil mentions the Recaro custom seats, grabber blue seat belts by SeatBeltPlanet, RTR harness, Holley digital interface, Switch Pro’s unit, and Midland radio, but it’s not just about the aesthetics. The Tjin Edition Safari Mach-E is functional and practical too, with the ARB recovery kit and PowerTank CO2 system. This Mustang is as comfortable and high-tech as it is rugged and ready for action.
Down to the chassis – the real deal of any off-roading beast. Neil knew from the jump that the Mustang would need to be raised, and not just 10mm, but closer to 4″ and for that he enlisted the help of RPG Offroad. With a custom engineered and fabricated suspension, 18″ Black Rhino Barrage wheels and Falken WildPeak tires, the Mustang Mach-E Safari is ready to go – whether it’s a desert or the rough back trails.
Neil ended his enthusiastic run-through by emphasizing the car’s main attraction, its powertrain: a dual motor (AWD) with an 88 kWh battery. What does that mean for us? A powerful, efficient, and sustainable ride.

From Imagination to Reality
Now, here’s the news you’ve been waiting for: This Mustang Mach-E Safari Concept isn’t just a figment of imagination or words on a page. It’s real, and it’s on a tour for all to witness. First stop? It’s already turning heads at Ford’s booth at SEMA in Las Vegas from Oct 31 to Nov 3. But that’s just the beginning. Mark your calendars, because this custom electric SUV will then light up Electrify Showoff in Austin from November 10-12. And for those in the City of Angels, catch its presence at the LA Auto Show from November 17-26.
The Tjin Edition Mustang Mach-E Safari Concept isn’t just a car. It’s a statement. It’s telling the world, “EVs are new. They’re the new wave,” as Neil so aptly put it. This vehicle blurs the lines between tradition and innovation, proving that the spirit of adventure and the future of eco-friendly technology can coexist, and look absolutely phenomenal while doing it.
